The Witch Boy is an upcoming American animated musical fantasy film directed by Minkyu Lee from a screenplay by Maria Melnik. The film is based on Molly Knox Osterag’s New York Times bestselling novel series of the same name.[1] It is being produced by Netflix Animation and Vertigo Entertainment.

The Witch Boy is set to be released by Netflix.

Premise edit

The film is set in a magical world where all of the girls are born to be a series of witches and some boys grow into shapeshifters. It follows a young boy named Aster, who discovers that he got her witch powers.

The film was first announced on January 28, 2021 as an animated musical fantasy film for Netflix with Minkyu Lee attached to direct with Maria Melnik writing the screenplay. Roy Lee, Miri Yoon and Ryan Harris served as producers for the film.[2]

Music edit

On the same day as the film's announcement, HAIM is currently set to contribute the original music for the film.[3]
