Draft of Monica Ten Kate / Monica the Medium edit

hello! You drafted my article; I finished and I added the necessary sources to my article about Monica Ten Kate. Is it possible for you to review the draft and approve it/publish it? KobeTheSpiritGuide (talk) 22:56, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draftifying redirects edit

It doesn't make any sense to mass draftfy soft redirects because there's nothing to improve in redirects. They aren't on mainspace. If you disagree with them, please start a WP:RfC. Also @CycloneYoris and Vanderwaalforces: since you reviewed some redirects, can you take a look at these?

And if you don't know what are WP:SRD, take a look at there. I'm going to dedraftify, because I'm an autoconfirmed user. --MikutoH talk! 16:11, 18 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Talk page edit

Hi dan! I was in the process of publishing (and the process is ongoing as I add each section) the 4D N = 1 global supersymmetry when you moved it to be a draft. I'm now not sure how to move the talk page back to the main published article. Could you help in that regard? Thanks! OpenScience709 (talk) 10:04, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draftification edit

Hello Dan arndt, I hope you are doing well. I noticed you draftified some articles that are older than 90 days. According to WP:DRAFTIFY, articles older than 90 days shouldn't be draftified without prior consensus at AfD. So, I kindly request that you use AfD instead of draftifying these older articles. Thanks! – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:33, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Engvar edit

Hello. In a recent edit to the page 2024 Sri Lanka floods, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Celjski Grad (talk) 13:07, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I expect Dan arndt is already well aware of MOS:ENGVAR. Shouldn't that article be written in Sri Lankan English English, which is generally similar in its spellings to British English than to American English? Girth Summit (blether) 13:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I’m sorry, who are you and why do you presume to talk for Dan arndt on their talk page?
As Sri Lanka is a former British colony, a strong national tie does exist and UK English would be appropriate. Celjski Grad (talk) 14:08, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm Girth Summit, a volunteer editor (and, FWIW, an administrator). This page just happens to be on my watchlist - I don't presume to speak for Dan, it's just been my experience that editors who have (a) been here for nearly two decades, (b) performed over 150,000 edits and (c) gained the autopatrolled flag have generally already come across MOS:ENGVAR - it's not typically necessary to inform them about it. Girth Summit (blether) 17:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Celjski Grad: I am very much aware of MOS:ENGVAR and as an extensive editor of articles on Sri Lanka (as well as having Sri Lankan heritage) I am very much aware of the version of English that it used within the country. This is why I have consistently had to change US spelling, usually by authors who are unaware that there are versions of English used in countries outside of the US, to a version of English that is used in the country of origin. I appreciate Girth Summit's independent comments as they have stated what my response to you was probably going to be, in that I have been editing long enough to know the difference as to what the appropriate versions of English to be used in respective articles and don't need to have a less experienced editor trying incorrectly assert themselves and their opinions.
