Pronunciation

edit

Sources agree on an English pronunciation of [GAL-a-TEE-uh], as suggested by the Greek and the Latin Galatēa. Adj. form would be Galatean (gal'-a-tee'-un). kwami 2005 June 30 08:30 (UTC)

The simulated view of Galatea could be misleading, as the model used for Galatea is a generic asteroid mesh rather than a model of Galatea. Chaos syndrome 15:11, 29 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Geological activity

edit

The article says "...shows no sign of any geological modification..." AFAIK the best images of Galatea are only a few pixels wide, so that statement sounds absurd. Of course, the moon is tiny that any (internal) geological activity is impossible.--Jyril 20:34, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Same applies to other small Neptunian satellite articles expect for Larissa and Proteus, which have better images.--Jyril 20:36, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
They all appear to be headed for destruction too, which seems pretty unusual. Could Triton be slowing them down as well as their sub-synchronous orbits? 209.93.141.17 (talk) 00:23, 25 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
