Nice entry! edit

My father, born in 1914, used to talk about fletcherism, humorously. I looked this up on impulse, while chewing. It would be interesting to know more about what kinds of foods Fletcher advocated eating. What is this about wastes in food? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.249.108.159 (talk) 23:52, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

William Gladstone edit

Gladstone, not Fletcher, was responsible for the idea of chewing food 32 times before swallowing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:4:580:AA2:F44A:2DB6:9898:78A2 (talk) 23:01, 10 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Criticism of Fletcher's ideas edit

The article needs to be expanded. Fletcher's ideas never stood the test of time. He is regarded today by some medical health experts as a quack.

Fletcher's ideas were criticized in James Crichton-Browne's Delusions in Diet: Or, Parcimony in Nutrition [1], [2], [3] Skeptic from Britain (talk) 19:51, 29 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
