Requested move 9 May 2024 edit

WallaceinaWallacemonas – As of 2014 onward, the type species of Wallaceina (W. brevicula) was returned to Crithidia, and the remaining species are now under the new name Wallacemonas (see: doi:10.1016/j.protis.2014.07.001 and doi:10.1098/RSOB.200407). — Snoteleks (talk) 15:28, 9 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. ToadetteEdit! 14:13, 19 May 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 12:17, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Is this the best solution? Wallaceina was erected for Wallaceina brevicula and several other species that have now being synonymised as Crithidia brevicula. Several new species were later added, but have now been shown to be unrelated and placed in Wallacemonas. It seems these should be the subject of a new article on Wallacemonas and, as Crithidia brevicula sensu lato is the primary topic of traditional Wallaceina, Wallaceina should redirect to Crithidia brevicula. —  Jts1882 | talk  08:00, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
As neither Wallaceina brevicula nor Crithidia brevicula exist, Wallaceina could be moved to Crithidia brevicula and genus with four species and the enlarged species cover the same topic. —  Jts1882 | talk  08:04, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Split between Crithidia brevicula and Wallacemonas, as the current article subject overlaps both. Wallaceina should redirect to the former, its type species. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 13:02, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Unfamiliar with the situation, I rely on Jts1882's description of it above. In which case, the article history should reside (and be moved to) Crithidia brevicula; any page splits can be done from there. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 14:25, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
