Talk:Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

The title of this article should be "Combined Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" NOT "Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation"

This is a "combined" (as in more than two) academies - and in English - "Combined Arms" refers to a specific military theory, and has nothing to do with academies. Patriot1010 (talk) 20:25, 15 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry but can someone explain the name of the Academy for me?

I'm not an expert in Russian language or Russian military but for this I'm not sure that I need to be.

The title in Russian is Военный учебно-научный центр Сухопутных войск ъОбщевойсковая орденов Ленина и Октябрьской революции, Краснознаменная, ордена Суворова академия Вооруженных Сил Российской Федерацииъ (or in Latin Voennyj uchebno-nauchnyj centr Suhoputnyh vojsk "Obshhevojskovaja ordenov Lenina i Oktjabr'skoj revoljucii, Krasnoznamennaja, ordena Suvorova akademija Vooruzhennyh Sil Rossijskoj Federacii) and this can be tranlated as: Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Russian Ground Forces (ad this Lenin, Suvorov orders...) Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

And how this became "Combined Arms Academy"?

You can call this Military Academy of Russian Ground Forces, Academy of Russian Ground Forces but how do you come to this "Combined Arms", what does this even mean?

Russia has Academies for every branch of Armed forces. Zhukovsky – Gagarin Air Force Academy for Air Force officers, N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy for Naval officers and so on. So I really don't understand why this is not called "Military Academy of Russian Ground Forces" because this is for Ground Army officers not for officers for the entire Russian Armed Forces.
