History edit

Mundfish Studio was founded by Robert Bagratuni (CEO) and Evgenia Sedova (CFO) in 2017. Later they were joined by artist Artem 'Artep' Galeev, as the studio's art director, and Oleg Gorodishenin as the studio's producer.[6][7]

The development team initially began working on the virtual reality game Soviet Lunapark. However, they halted development and removed the game from availability in late 2018 to concentrate their efforts on another project, Atomic Heart.[8]

The studio started to develop Atomic Heart originally as a VR game with a very small team. The concept of the game world, which Artem 'Artep' Galeev came up with many years ago, eventually seemed so ambitious to the team that they began to consider the possibility of increasing the scale of the project.[9][10][11] Later in production, the studio pivoted to a AAA-scale multi-platform game and eventually expanded its team to 130+ people by Atomic Heart's global release.[12][13][14] The team operated remotely during the pandemic and continues to be distributed across the globe, with main teams in Paphos, Yerevan and Abu Dhabi.[15]

Mundfish was featured as a winner in the third edition of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in the Middle East and Cyprus regions, in the rising star category.[16][17]
