East Pakenham railway station

East Pakenham railway station is a railway station in Pakenham, Victoria. Announced in 2020, the station opened on 3 June 2024[2] alongside a rebuilt Pakenham station, and was built as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project.[3][4][5][6]

Until mid-2023, the state government referred to the station as Pakenham East railway station. The name "East Pakenham" was confirmed in a new train map published by Public Transport Victoria in May 2023; the reason for it to be named "East Pakenham" station as to not be confused with the nearby Pakenham East depot.[7][6][better source needed]

On 3 June 2024, East Pakenham station opened to passengers alongside the rebuilt rail-over-road Pakenham station.[8][9]

Platforms and services edit

East Pakenham has one island platform with two faces. It is serviced by Metro Trains' Pakenham line services.[10]

By 2025, it is planned that trains on the Pakenham line will be through-routed with those on the Sunbury line, via the new Metro Tunnel.
