Yahya Sare'e Qasim (Arabic: يحيى سريع قاسم) is the brigadier general and military spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces (SPCTooltip Supreme Political Council) associated with the Houthi movement (more formally Ansar Allah) since 2018.[3] He established a Twitter account on 15 January 2021, and is also active on Telegram and YouTube. He makes frequent announcements on the Houthi attacks during the Red Sea crisis.[4]

Early life edit

Yahya Sare'e was born in Saada Governorate, adjacent to the southern Saudi border in 1970.[2] He has earned bachelor and master degrees in political science, and has taken combat, security, administrative, and specialized courses in military science.[2]

Career edit

In 2017, he was appointed head of the Psychological Warfare Division in Moral Guidance for the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF).[3] The same year he was also promoted to the rank of Colonel. In the mid-2018 he was appointed as the Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the Armed Forces, and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and on 17 October 2018, he was appointed as the official spokesman for the YAF.[5]
