Proposal for Essay Talk Template

I completed a prototype Template for this Project from Template:WPBannerMeta, for your consideration (see User:B.C.Schmerker/Templates/WPEssay (alpha)): {{User:B.C.Schmerker/Templates/WPEssay (alpha)|class=NA|importance=NA}} As of this post, the Class, Importance and Attention functions are activated; what other functions, if any, will be needed? I notice that Template:Essaysort has now been created (although the above proposal looks better in some respects). What classes do you actually need? A lot of them (i.e. all of the article classes FA, A, GA, B, C, Start, Stub, etc.) will not be relevant to this project, will they? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:08, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
There hasn't been a proposal for assessing quality. And there may not be one. I don't know that assessing the quality of someone's opinion is really logical. So there isn't one, then we won't need the classes you mentioned. ɳoɍɑfʈ Talk! 13:01, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I see these classes have now been removed from the template. If/when this project gets fully underway, you might wish to separate articles by namespace and make use of the Template, Category, and Project classes, etc. But for now, a single category should probably suffice. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:39, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Excellent work, Noraft and MSGJ, on the new Talk template, which includes parameters not available to me when I did my prototype. B. C. Schmerker (talk) 06:17, 6 March 2010 (UTC) Amended to correct name error. B. C. Schmerker (talk) 06:20, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Categorize essays and get a barnstar!

I'm going to be taking "D" under Category:Wikipedia essays, categorizing them with HotCat, and applying our WikiProject Banner (the {{essaysort}} tag) to essay talk pages that do not yet have it. Others participating in helping to categorize the essays, please announce what letter you're taking here. When you've finished that letter, post here again letting us know you've completed it. I'll award a barnstar to those completing 50 essay categorizations or more, and an extra-special custom award to anyone completing more than 100. ɳoɍɑfʈ Talk! 07:36, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
