Proposed change to {{Wikify}}

One of the problems that has been cited with the Wikify template is that most editors believe the only problem is a lack of Wikilinks. To avoid this problem I have created a new version of the Wikify tag in my sandbox. The new version would add one more parameter to the tag which would allow taggers to give a reason. Currently my version of the Wikify tag looks like this {{User:Ryan Vesey/Template sandbox}}If you add a reason {{User:Ryan Vesey/Template sandbox|reason=Insufficient wikilinks and the article is lacking an infobox}} you get {{User:Ryan Vesey/Template sandbox|reason=Insufficient wikilinks and the article is lacking an infobox}}Does anyone have thoughts on whether or not I should implement this change? It would cause the 19,000 articles currently tagged to all display the first template, but it could be helpful in the future. Ryan Vesey Review me! 03:16, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Not a bad idea, and if implemented I suggest we ask the folks over at Twinkle to create a prompt that opens whenever someone selects the {{wikify}} tag (using twinkle, ofc) asking them to fill that parameter in. IMO, that would be one of the better ways to let people know about it; otherwise people will just continue the current tagging. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:58, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Ahh, good idea. I will post a comment on the talk page of the template, just to make sure there is no opposition. Then I will contact Twinkle. Ryan Vesey Review me! 15:06, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
It would be the kind of dialogue box that pops up when you Twinkle CSD tag an article for General maintenance (G6) - "Please provide an optional rationale", that sort of thing. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 15:50, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Yep, tagging an article for cleanup also prompts for a rationale. Ryan Vesey Review me! 16:13, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
I like it. We might even get a drop in people tagging articles incorrectly when they have to stop and think of a reason. Kerowyn Leave a note 23:40, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Said prompt has been installed. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 18:25, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Some ideas: Instead of 1 parameter I would prefer if we had several like: |fewlinks=, |infobox=, etc. and every time an issue is fixed to remove the corresponding parameter like we do with {{Multiple issues}}. I also encourage the use of {{HTML-cleanup}} for html cleanup cases. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:13, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

I tried to create multiple parameters and it was just too much work. I have also made some changes so it looks like this:

{{User:Ryan Vesey/Template sandbox}} The reason is in the show hide section now. It would be helpful if everyone can comment in support at Template talk:Wikify so this can actually get changed. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:21, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Ideally, yes, we would have multiple parameters. However, one should should do a lot because, just as Kerowyn says, thinking of any real reason to place a wikify tag might cause many of those tags not to take place. That's an absolutely awful sentence grammatically, but I think you get my point. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 19:26, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
I think another benefit of an open parameter is that we will be able to directly see if someone posts the tag for the wrong reason. That way, we can put {{Nowikify}} to use. (which should always be substituted from now on) Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:29, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
You've got this all planned out, dontcha? :) Hey, they're good ideas. I mean, we're almost like a real Wikiproject now! Nolelover Talk·Contribs 20:08, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Ryan's changes have been implemented into {{wikify}}. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 16:20, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

  • As I suggested above, I'd like to see the wording altered from "Make wikilinks..." to include "and check that your links work as expected" or similar. I worry that people are getting brownie points for adding links, but without being reminded to make sure that they're the right links. But no-one commented on my concerns above - perhaps an article is considered Wikified, and points scored, once it has links, any links, whether they lead to somewhere helpful or to a dab page or the wrong article? Sad. PamD 22:09, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
    • My apologies for entirely missing your comments Pam. Heading up there right now. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 22:22, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry as well. I saw your comments went to act, and then forgot about them when I had to leave my computer. You should bring your issues with the actual tag to Template talk:Wikify so an admin can make the change. They should be uncontroversial. Ryan Vesey Review me! 23:48, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
      • Now that we've wrapped up the other stuff, I'll look into suggesting some of Pam's changes for {{wikify}}. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 18:25, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
        • Just a note to say that the first change was added to {{wikify}} a few days ago. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 17:42, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

October drive

All drive pages have been set up, and the MessageDeliveryBot has received a request from me. Reward page and community noticeboard will be done on the day of. Newsletter still needs to be set up. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 17:42, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Newsletter   Done. Now, Ima take a two day break from anything wikification-related. :P Nolelover Talk·Contribs 19:17, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry that I'v been missing for so long. School started again and its a bit more work than I expected it to be. I hope I'll get a little more free time as I get further into the year.Sumsum2010·T·C 22:55, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
No prob. RL is always more important, and its good to see you still checking in. :) Nolelover Talk·Contribs 02:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Encouragement

Sometimes, the backlogs of articles to be dealt with feels overwhelming. I'd just like to point to Wikipedia:Unreferenced BLP Rescue which, over the course of about 20 months, has managed what many thought would not be possible; the backlog was chipped away to none. We've got a lot of articles to wikify, but with some effort, we can make a difference! -- Whpq (talk) 17:30, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

My wikifying

I've wikified several articles for the October drive today. I'm wondering whether my wikifying is good or bad :/. I'm good at article writing, but I'm not sure whether I'm strong here. Can someone check my wikification? Thanks! HurricaneFan25 17:31, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Hey there HurricaneFan, thanks for asking. I've gone through the five articles you've listed, and I have this to say....*ten minutes later*....ehh, you're fine. I might have linked Federal and Canadian, and common words like cottage or farmhouse, but those are minor. Great job, and thanks for your work! Nolelover Talk·Contribs 11:29, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

awards idea

I'm back after 3 months of break. I was thinking that we could add a specific award for those who show obvious dedication/organization skills/etc. to the project as a whole (sorta like MILHIST's Chevrons). Just an idea. WikiCopter 20:34, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Well, we've got the end of year awards coming up, which will sorta be the same thing. We'll award those who have participated in every drive and so forth. You can see it at Kerowyn's talk. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 20:56, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

New Copyvio Detection Tool

Hey, user Δ (Betacommand) has just finished writing a tool called "Copyvio Detection Candidates" that lists all un-wikified articles over 3000 bytes so we can better purge the copyvios and obliterate that massive backlog. Essentially, the tools lists all articles that fall under Category:Articles that need to be wikified and are 3000 kb or higher, which is considered to be a point where most articles have been copied and pasted from other sources. To use the tool please add importScript('User:Δ/Copyvio Detection Candidates.js'); [1] to your individual script page, which will present a tab at the top of any cat title that has "Category:Articles that need to be wikified", or go to [2]. All hail for Beta! Sp33dyphil "Ad astra" 02:11, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Excellent! Beta and I have had our differences in the past, but this is a great tool. It took me all of 30 seconds on a test run to find [3]. Thanks for the info Sp33dyphil. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:23, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
No, all the recognition should be directed towards ToAruShiroiNeko (who came up with the idea), and Beta for devising the tool. Sp33dyphil "Ad astra" 00:20, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Stepping down

I am stepping down as assistant coordinator. First of all, this is roughly the time that we would have been electing new coordinators anyway (I say 'would' because it doesn't appear we have the activity or any reason to do so), and I simply don't have extra time or energy to devote to WWF. I have been cutting back on all my activity on-wiki, and what little I do needs to be focused on finishing a couple projects here and there. Thanks for allowing me to serve here; I have enjoyed it. Here's to this project's continued success -- Nolelover Talk·Contribs 01:09, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Awards proposal

As some of you may be aware, as part of the revamp of WikiProject Wikify's award system, we have decided to add three new awards to the list:

  1. Most articles wikified in a calender year
  2. Participation in all drives (Participation is defined as having wikified at least 1 article for each drive)
  3. Most leader board appearances in a year

The purpose of these awards is to reward continuous participation in the Project and to reward the outstanding dedication many editors have shown. For the purposes of these awards, we will only be considering articles wikified in the past calendar ( 00:00:00 UTC 1 January 2011 to 23:59:59 31 December 2011.) We also will only be counting articles recorded as part of a drive, just to make life easier.

For these year-end awards, we'll be handing out a new barnstar. The design is inspired by the old Superior Scribe award. You can see the rough draft of these barnstars here: 1 2 3 and 4. If you have any strong feelings about any of these, please leave a note here. Otherwise I'll make an executive decision and use my favorite (ha, ha! Power!). --Kerowyn Leave a note 03:08, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Next drive?

When will the next drive start? I can't wait to obliterate the backlog! Cheers! --Sp33dyphil ©© 08:35, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

The next drive has been setup by Kerowyn. Invites are in the mail :) Nolelover Talk·Contribs 21:08, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

Taskforce

I'd like to set up a taskforce for fictional lists. How do I go about this? Thanks.. Ncboy2010 (talk) 20:53, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Are you talking about wikifying fictional lists, or just maintaining them in general? If the former, then I don't think the WWF really does taskforces that specific. If the latter, which I think is more likely, then WP:WPLISTS is a better place to ask. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 03:08, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Drive December 2011

It is 19 days to closed the December 2011 drive, but the awards are not distribute, can anyone know about that? And what about the next drive?-- 17:58, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Ah, I forgot that this is the page to post that problem on. Yes, I must second this concern. If no one else who earned one or more awards during the drive received any, and if it's alright with the general rules of the drive, I'd be willing to help distribute them. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 11:54, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh. Sh!t. (More bleeps).
I am incredibly sorry that this has happened folks. Ugh...anyway, I'm having a monster week school-wise, so I really can't do this atm. WW, if you can, I'll owe you a few. The awards are here, and I'd like to think its pretty easy to figure out. Note that User:Miniapolis is the only editor who should get a {{The Greater Working Wikifier's Barnstar}} for wordcount...I was the only other editor to even submit for that, so don't bother about a runner up. Just leave a generic message with the barnstars, and if you do mention the delay, tell them to come talk to me. If not, I'll do this Monday...I'm simply swamped until then. Looking for an editor to help me with an article

Hi there, I was advised by an administrator to post here as I am looking for someone to help me with editing an article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sportsfan5000/Adam_Windsor It had a speedy deletion a while ago, since then however I have cited and referenced a lot of it. I just need help with any formatting and anything else a good editor can see. I am honestly not that great with using wikipedia so any and all help that I can get I would be really appreciative of. I also will need help from an administrator with moving the article back into the article space and basically approving it from what I understand so that it is not deleted again. Please let me know if anyone can help me or if anyone knows of someone that would be interested in finalizing this project. Thank you in advance! Sportsfan5000 (talk) 22:22, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

After a quick glance, there's a couple things I've noticed. The main is that you seem to repeat or split up biographical information. For example, "Professional wrestling career" and "Recent years and other notable achievements" have much of the same material, and probably should be merged and placed at the beginning of the article. Any personal stuff would go into "personal life", and that usually ends up at the bottom or after all of the wrestling text. There aren't many admins that hang around here, so you'll hafta go somewhere else for that (you can add the template {{admin help}} to your talk page, and one will come by), but there are a few things I could tell you that would make your submission much more likely to be accepted. First, remove all the wrestling moves unless you can verify that he is well-known for one or two. Same with the current personal life section. Most of it is either referenced and unnecessary ("Certified Paramedic" and "Registered EMT") or belongs elsewhere (family matters, if sourced, should probably be in the biography). Last, try not to write it like an essay or a friendly report ("Even though Adam now enjoys a much more quiet life with his wife and children at home, and enjoys not being on the road wrestling or on his phone 24/7 with his businesses, he still likes to work on fun and interesting projects that not only bring jobs to the community that he lives in, but also expands what his town has to offer." That's just weird, coming from an encyclopedia). Nolelover Talk·Contribs 23:13, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

March Mini 2012 ^^

Hi everyone, and let's brace ourselves for the March Mini Wikification Drive (logtrack). If you are reading this, you will probably be receiving an invitation soon. but no stress : it's going to last only 15 days, so you'll have a week or so before to recover from the February Drive and a week after to prepare for the April one (only beware, it may be a fool!)
@ Nolelover i have been granted AWB rights so i could use it as a replacement for MDB, and for the awards if no-one else has settles to do that. Cheers, benzband (talk) 19:24, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

And what for the dates? How about starting at 00:00, 8 March 2012 and conclude at 00:00, 24 March 2012 (making it 15 days fair and square). benzband (talk) 19:40, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
If you're up for creating the list, and stuff, go for it. I did AWB once and promised myself I never would use it again for that, but that's just personal preference. Dates sound good. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 19:43, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Template discussion

Hey everybody, there is some discussion about a change in {{Wikify}} occuringat Template talk:Wikify. Feel free to take part. I also wanted to ask here about another template change and later start a template discussion if we agree on this. Would we be interested in creating a category, Category:Articles that need to be wikified with reasons given. If we did, a modification would (hopefully) be made to the Wikify template so that if a reason parameter was added, the page would be put into the category. I believe I have figured out the way to make it work correctly if we would like that to be created. Ryan Vesey Review me! 21:18, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

It took me an hour or so of testing but I finally got the category to work correctly so I really hope people like the idea. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:00, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Please see this too. We need to have a broad discussion about {{wikify}} and AWB eventually. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 21:25, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Hmm, I have another feature request in there for AWB. See [4]. Ryan Vesey Review me!23:48, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
So here is my idea about AWB. It seems like it is going to be almost impossible to get AWB to change its current system; however, if a series of planned edits are completed then we can do one more that could solve the problem (to an extent). Right now, we are trying to introduce a change to the default reason parameter. After that, I am going to attempt to seek consensus to modify the reason parameter when the reason is given so it is added to a Category:Articles that need to be wikified with reasons given. In addition, I am planning on a feature request with AWB that shouldn't be controversial where AWB would add the reason found at User:Ryan Vesey/Template sandbox. If all of those go through, the category would be populated with many articles newly tagged with AWB. Then I have another idea. {{Orphan}} has {{{att}}} which is used if you have attempted to de-orphan an article but it wasn't possible. We could create a similar parameter for {{Wikify}} which could be added to articles tagged by AWB that can't be wikified any more than they already are. Ryan Vesey Review me! 00:09, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
A category for AWB-tagged articles sounds good… also the adding a reason with AWB. Apparently per this discussion {{cleanup}} tags can be removed if they don't have a reason specified; now although {{wikify}} is more specific (provides a tutorial) something along those lines might come in useful :P benzband (talk) 15:24, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
It would be an easy way to clear the backlog but not a great way to improve the project. Can you head over to Template talk:Wikify#Support for an edit request so we can gain support on that and then we can begin to get the ball rolling on the others? I'm going to go ahead and create the category. Ryan Vesey Review me! 15:34, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Actually, I am going to go ahead and make the request for the category addition, it should be uncontroversial. Ryan Vesey Review me!15:42, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
  • As another thing for the farther-off future for things to think about, I've proposed that AWB not add {{wikify}} to stubs; often there aren't three relevant links. Furthermore, we should think about whether AWB should be removing {{wikify}} at all (it only measures links, so if an infobox is needed or the organization if bad, the program doesn't see that. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 13:07, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Wikify tags that can be handled with other things

Since the category was created, I have found articles with tags that have single issues covered by other templates. For example, some articles are tagged with {{wikify}} when the only issue is that it is lacking an infobox. I have been removing the Wikify tag and adding {{Infobox requested}} to the talk page. Generally, if there isn't at least one reason given (or immediately visible to me-editors often fail to state that wikilinks are necessary because it is considered obvious if they are) that is only covered by{{wikify}}, I remove the template and replace it with other appropriate templates. Would other editors agree with my actions or should we leave {{wikify}} on all articles on which it was correctly tagged until the problem is resolved? Ryan Vesey Review me!02:42, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Sure i'd say it's a good idea (say, replace with {{dead end}} if the only issue is wikilinks). But of course one must take into consideration that each article/situation is different, so it may not always be advisable (and if you see some other obvious reason for the tag, adding it to the list can't hurt anyone). benzband (talk) 16:42, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
If anyone wants to see the category it is Category:Articles that need to be wikified with reasons given. Can we get this on any of our templates so it is easier to get to? Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:31, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Entirely appropriate, IMO. In fact, that's exactly what we want people to learn to do; {{wikify}} has become a style catch-all, even when, as you say, only one aspect of the article needs improving. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 13:04, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Wikify program

I was a member of this WikiProject a few years back and remember a really helpful tool that analyzed articles and recommended words that would probably be a helpful link. Does anyone know if it's still available? Voyagingtalk 07:02, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Do you mean User:Nickj/Can We Link It? I don't think it's still available; http://can-we-link-it.nickj.org/ seems to be a dead link.benzband (talk) 09:29, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Yep, that's the one. Someone should try to make a new version of this, I found it incredibly helpful with my efficiency back when I worked on the project. Voyagingtalk 16:58, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
I suppose someone could contact Nickj over it. benzband (talk) 08:15, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

June Drive

I was wondering if we could add another primary goal of removing the pages in Category:Articles that need to be wikified with reasons given. Ryan Vesey Review me! 18:09, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

I agree with this. The June run will be my first actual run with Wikify on an efficient manner. I've been really busy with other projects that have exceedingly high backlogs, but if we are going for 19,500 or under that is good, it will mean cleaning out that category in my eyes as well. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 19:15, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
As an aside, I've been playing around with a mini idea in my head for the month of July. I'm not sure if it would be a waste or resources though. If we cleared the backlog of articles with reasons given, it might be good to have a mini reason tagging drive. We could then do a reason parameter goal on the next drive as well. I don't know if this would just be a waste of time though because technically it adds to the work because they could just be wikified on sight. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:31, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
I'd say wikify on sight is more productive. But say you land on an article you can't handle but which doesn't have a reason, you can add one before moving on. benzband (talk) 09:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Wikify tips

We've never done anything like it before, but what would people think if we created a box at the top of the log your edits page that could be updated periodically with wikify hints. I'm thinking things like adding infoboxes or tagging an article with infobox needed, adding persondata, identifying articles recently tagged incorrectly and notifying the tagger with {{nowikify}}.←That template could use some work by the way, it makes no mention of html tags in particular. Ryan Vesey Review me! 05:03, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify/Drives/Instructions and remembering to check the edit history before notifying someone with{{nowikify}} (the article may not have been wikified yet at the time of tag placement). benzband (talk) 15:37, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

AWB paramater for wikify tag

What would people think if I developed a parameter for {{wikify}} that can be used when you find the tag clearly added incorrectly by AWB. The parameter would be something like awb=no which would leave the template on the page, but would remove it from our backlog. Ryan Vesey Review me! 07:15, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

What would be the purpose of leaving the template though? Nolelover Talk·Contribs 15:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Then AWB wouldn't re-add it. Ryan Vesey Review me! 17:13, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
IMO, AWB doesn't do a terrible job of adding {{wikify}} tags, because of the simplicity of the algorithm (most big articles with less than three links do indeed need the template). However, that very simplicity means that for stubs there is an inherent problem. I would think that instead of trying to fix a very small problem (do you have any examples of non-stubs being tagged incorrectly?), the effort would be better spent trying to get AWB to not tag stubs. NoleloverTalk·Contribs 19:40, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
My problem with that is we already have two requests in with AWB and I have left messages on the talk pages with editors who are supposed to work with it. They have all gone unresponded. Unless someone can corner someone in charge of AWB, I think the change needs to come on our end. Ryan Vesey Review me! 00:38, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
I understand...that cornering you refer to was gonna be one of my two big projects later in the summer. Anyway, until that happens maybe your parameter would be the best way to keep AWB from repeatedly adding {{wikify}} to stubs and the like. Would the parameter make the whole template invisible? For that matter, couldn't we just have some sort of NOBOTS-type word that prevents AWB from tagging, or is that too complicated? Just throwing out ideas here, but yours is probably best. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 01:45, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
I don't have any idea how your nobots type thing would be technically possible, and if it was, I think it would completely stop AWB which wouldn't be appropriate. It would be exactly like attempted de-orphan on {{orphan}}. The tag would only appear in the source. Ryan Vesey Review me! 02:21, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Useful java script

User:Ucucha/duplinks is a very useful java script, especially if you wikify a large article. It places a button in your toolbox which will highlight duplicate links in the article. Ryan Vesey Review me! 19:53, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip :D benzband (talk) 09:07, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Deathlaser wikification issues

Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikify/Drives/2012/June#Deathlaser wikification issuesRyan Vesey Review me!21:24, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

I have added issues from User:Dipankan001 on that page as well, in addition, I added some advice for wikification. Ryan Vesey Review me!00:53, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Just removing the tag

I noticed that in some of the pages I reviewed nothing occurred beyond the removal of {{wikify}} and it was added to the list. This is the earliest example I could find of a precedent stating that articles where the wikify tag is removed with no work at all should not be added to the list. Ryan Vesey Review me!06:26, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Award system

[5]to here from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Wikify/Drives/Awards/3G by benzband(talk)

I wish if we have few awards on the quality of wikification too? I mean many people just remove wikify tag, fix few spelling mistakes and few minor inputs. This award would be given to someone, who works more on eacn article, adding infoboxes, maps, location data and even expanding the article. What do everyone here suggest? VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  07:14, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Hmm...it's a good idea, but would we just leave it up the drive co-ords to decide? It's hard to put a number on going above and beyond the call, so I don't think we should try that. Again though, I agree that giving a barnstar to one or two editors who really put forth a lot of work into their submissions is not a bad idea. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 16:44, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Agreed. It takes a surprising amount of time to deal with the formal award system. Barnstars are always welcome, and they don't require such a formal, centralized system.Kerowyn Leave a note 00:39, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Put it this way: Vivek, if you see an editor really doing a nice job of working on multiple aspects of an article, don't be afraid to do award him yourself. :) There's nothing wrong with a bit of spontaneity. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 01:27, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Yups That is fine. But I said this because it is possible that many poeple just do minor improvements to wikify an article while others work hard over them. Obviously, those will have lower places in the leader board irrespective of their more hardship. As for the personal award idea, I'd be privileged to honor someone with that. VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  07:35, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
However, I had just one doubt. I thought of this as an official award by drive co-ordinators because since, I cannot award myself and I don't know whether someone will notice my contribution or not; this award might be a good encouragement to one's labor and passion for Wikipedia. The Wikifier - July edition

Also, how's the news on the upcoming edition of The Wikifier? I've been drafting some stuff up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify/News/July 2012/Drive and Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify/News/July 2012/Project news.benzband (talk) 15:28, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I can work on an editorial. It will probably focus on an in depth Wikification process and commending some of the editors I see who do that. I'll also add some of the things we're working on to the news page. Ryan Vesey Review me! 15:41, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Help plz?

I've been working on putting the List of submarines of the United States Navy into a sortable table, but it's unbelievably tedious. There are about 500 more entries to put in, but if two or three people help out, that's only 200 each! =p Kerowyn Leave a note 19:56, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

What about putting it into a word doc and doing a find and replace. I did a quick attempt using Wikipedia's find and replace, but that isn't advanced enough and you can't only affect highlited areas. Ryan Vesey Review me! 20:02, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
You may want to check out some of the tools listed at Wikipedia:Tools/Editing tools. I've not used any of these but there does look to be some tools for converting spreadsheets to tables which might work for you. -- Whpq (talk) 20:25, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

AWB auto-tagging

I've started a discussion at the Village Pump about the auto-tagging of stubs with "wikify", and a couple of semi-related issues. Your input would be appreciated. DoctorKubla (talk) 07:38, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
