Use of Presidents' First Names edit

I have been working extensively on Lincoln's article. I got an interesting revert today, in referring to the President by his first name only. I understand this idea - out of respect for the position - but it is a common practice among biographers, especially when discussing the man prior to adulthood. (Of course the first name would always be acceptable when quoting another's use of it.) Please comment.Carmarg4 (talk) 19:16, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
