The Scale

The grading scale for importance needs to be modified to fit this wikiproject better. I pretty much put what I thought as reasonable but if anyone disagrees or has something to add please discuss it. Importance Clarification

I was looking at the guidance and saw that Counties should be placed as high importance. I was thinking that if a county held a major city it would be high, otherwise it would be medium. Opinions/thoughts?

I would say that all counties are high importance. Important cities would be high importance as well. The reason I see it like this is because the top importance is North Carolina, whereas counties are the next split from state. Acidskater 20:47, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

I would disagree because lets take my county that I live in, Onslow. Yes, there are two military installations and one city there but with regards to NC as a whole lets say it is high importance. Go to the north where you have Jones county. There are no major cities there and very little notability in this county. Based on all counties as being high, These two would be equal. I would say that all counties are mid and than we can go by population and or "attractions" (for lack of a better word). Therefore Onslow, Craven, New Hanover, Pitt, Wake, Durham (to name a few) would be high, and others like Jones, Duplin, Pender, Lenoir would be mid. Please let me know what you think? That is a pretty good point. How do you propose we split it up though? We could do it strictly on population (which would probably be the best way) or figure out another way. I'd say if we do it by population we have the split at 75,000. Acidskater 22:29, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Non-Article Classification

I just put over 200 articles in the NA class to try to clean things up. Primarially these were categories and images. Do we have something for Categories and images to better classify these groups? I made some good progress today so we should see some good things to come when the bot comes through to do article counts! Rob110178 20:38, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Star, North Carolina

I am not an author of, or contributor to, the Star, North Carolina entry. I was visiting, was fairly impressed with the entry given size of the town, and accessed the talk page to see how it is rated. I am surprised to see that the entry has a quality scale rating of stub. I would think its rating would be B or at least C. I also think that the WikiProject NC's own importance criteria would indicate an importance rating of Mid, not its current Low rating.--Rpclod (talk) 13:12, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
