Notability? edit

Unless someone can stake their claim, I am hereby removing Larry Foyt from the lists at List of NASCAR drivers and from Wikipedia:WikiProject_NASCAR/To-do#Article_requests His only claims to fame seems to be that he led total of 7 laps, over 4 years in Busch/Winston/Nextel series, no top 10 finishes, hasn't raced since April 4, 2004. Stanton Barrett edit

I just want to know if anyone thinks the Stanton Barrett article should still be a stub. I added lots of info to it this morning, but I think there should be more about his stunt career. Please let me know. --D-Day 12:44, 1 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

This is definitely Start class if not B-class (if references are added). I have marked it as Start. Thanks for all the improvements, too!! Guroadrunner 06:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

SOURCE: Stock Car Racing Magazine edit

From the mid-Sixties until a new owner bought SCR and Dick Berggren and his people left, this was the best source of documented contemporary accounts and history articles. Unfortunately, the current SCR website has no index of articles from the pre-Internet era. My father's copies were auctioned off after he died, so I can't access those handily. If someone can find these hardcopies, I know there were feature-length articles on Hoss Ellington, Charlie Glotzbach, Ray Hendrick, Tommy Houston, Rick Mast, Bud Moore, DiGard Motorsports, probably other requested-article drivers and teams, and many drivers on the Stubs Needing Expansion list. Please? Thanks! Barno 00:34, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Many Drivers Added edit

I added many more drivers, and probably every driver that is prominent throughout NASCAR's history without a page on Wikipedia. These drivers either have won a race in Nextel Cup, ran over 100 races, or have finished in the top ten in points in a certain season. I find these to be the three only major defining points for a driver, and only reason to include a driver on Wikipedia (for the drivers from 1949-1990). All modern drivers already have pages, even if they have 30 starts to 500, which is fine; but for historical purposes I believe drivers should have to have one of the three things (100 or more starts, a win, or top ten points finish) to get a page. A driver of course could have something unique (like being first women, or first African American). I just wanted to let you know why I added all these drivers. I intend to add no more (unless I've missed some, which is a possibility); but most of these drivers have accomplishments, but no pages. I did the same for the Busch and CTS series, although there are far fewer drivers. Casey14 04:03, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Giant list of driver articles "to be expanded" edit

Do you guys mind if I replace that huge 3 column list with just a link to Category:NASCAR people stubs? Or maybe we could just start over but only list articles that really need expanding (like if someone is very notable but their article is very short)? I think it is just too big to be useful. Done. Recury 00:13, 6 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Michael Kranefuss edit

I would be happy to create this article. Let me kow if it's ok on my talk page. Tech43 06:46, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't see a problem with it Guroadrunner 06:11, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I today started on the page that was listed on the "to do" list. The members of the Augusta International Raceway Preservation Society, along with myself will be editing the page and adding more content in the days to come. Please feel free to help out in any way. Thanks. swilson2000 16:52, 24 January 2008

1987 Winston Cup Season edit

I am working on updating the 1987 season article (you can check out my user sandbox for my progress and format). Before I get full on into it, I'd like to make sure it's not going to get deleted or anything. I am in the midst of watching the entire season on video and will be adding tons of info. I'd like to put it together similar to how the current season articles look. GeoffEighinger (talk) 09:34, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Donnie Allison edit

Hey guys, just a suggestion. Maybe the Donnie Allison article can be the subject of an article cleanup. It is in a fairly poor state for such an important figure. Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:33, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

2004 ARCA/ReMax Series season edit

I am trying to make this season because I believe everyone is bored of having to write Frank Kimmel as the champion from 2000-2007. Help me! --Yeel88 (talk) 12:57, 19 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

2020 NASCAR Pinty's Series edit

I noticed there was no article for it when editing Donald Theetge's article today. I mentioned the following in an edit summary when editing his article, in case you didn't see it: If I remember correctly, NASCAR cancelled the Pinty's Series season for this year (due to COVID) but did schedule a few exhibition races for the series this year, right? Will an article (with the title "2020 NASCAR Pinty's Series") about those couple races be created and results for each driver who participated in them added to each of their results tables?

What do you guys think? I'm not sure if this was discussed somewhere else already, so maybe a decision was made already. I didn't see anything about it previously, so that's why I'm bringing it up.

NASCAR still ran a series in Canada and crowned a champion. Should there be a page for the season? The answer lies in if it can satisfy WP:NSEASON. If anybody decides to make a page, I would suggest 2020 NASCAR Pinty's FanCave Challenge as the title, as that is what the series was called this year. Racing-Reference counted FanCave Challenge stats as legitimate Pinty's stats, so I would hesitate calling it an exhibition. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 01:44, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
