Balmain SC edit

Just created this page, my local club :D. Thought it should be done, need help getting a Balmain Tigers logo onto it - can someone show me how to do it please? Once again, hope it's ok, i did it as best i could from a Neutral POV. Nath1991 (talk) 04:42, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Added the logo.

Adding Football Logos 101

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload is the address for uploading logos.

(1) Make sure your source filename is relevant to what page you're adding it to -- the one I uploaded for example is called Tigerslogo.JPG

(2) In the Summary section I always put:

{{Club name}} crest
== Fair use in {{Club wikipage}} == Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
#It illustrates an educational article about {{Club name}}.
#The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic.
#The logo is not used in such a way that a reader would be confused into believing that the article is written or authorized by {{Club name}}.
#No uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value is available.
{{logo fur
<!-- REQUIRED -->
|Article={{Club name}}
|Use={{Club's hometown}} football club {{Club name}}
|Purpose=This image is used to identify the {{Club's hometown}} football club {{Club name}}.
<!-- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -->
|Source=[http://www.where-i-found-the-logo.com]
<!-- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -->
|Used_for=Informational Purposes
|Owner={{Logo owners name}}
|Website=http://www.owners-website.com
|History=
|Commentary=
<!-- OVERRIDE FIELDS -->
|Description=
|Portion=
|Low_resolution=
|Purpose=This image is used to identify the {{Club's hometown}} football club {{Club name}}.
|Replaceability=
|other_information=
}}

So in this instance:
{{Club's hometown}} is Sydney
{{Club name}} is Balmain SC
{{Club wikipage}} is Balmain SC
{{Logo owners name}} is Balmain Soccer Club
http://www.owners-website.com is http://www.balmainsoccerclub.com/about.shtml
[http://www.where-i-found-the-logo.com] is [http://www.balmainsoccerclub.com/img/tigerslogo.png]

(3) Then in the Licensing bar select logo.

(4) After adding the logo I always edit the licensing section so that it reads:
== Licensing: ==
[[Category:Sports logos]]
{{Non-free logo}}
{{Non-free commercial logo}}

(5) Save the page then in the club infobox in the image = section just add the name of the file -- so for this one it reads:
image = [[File:Tigerslogo.JPG]]
Hope this helps -- if you'd like more guidelines generally have a look at WP:IUP and WP:UPI. Keep up the great work!

Melbourne University Rangers edit

Started this page -- with teams like Ringwood City in the lowest division, the teams in the State League at least can get a listing if there's some good references on them.

State Leagues edit

Nearly finished making articles for the whole NSW Super League, will then get cracking onto Division One & Two Teams. Will also get cracking on a few Victorian State League, QLD state league, and ACT League teams. Nath1991 (talk) 13:50, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Also, iv'e been updating the 2010 NSWPL, however the NSWPL website doesn't give a list of goalscorers when it publishes the weekly scores - they don't even add who scored the goals. Is there anyone who knows of another website that does. I don't have the time or patience right now to go through each match report and count & tally goalscorers Nath1991 (talk) 13:53, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

NSW Super League & State League Div One, as well as the QLD state league, BPL, and others edit

Have created articles for all the NSW Super League teams, and in the process of making articles for the State League Div One. Will also finish doing to QLD state leagues and the ACT Premier League teams. I addition i thought the Waratah Cup was notable enough for a page, and also made a page for this seasons cup. If you think anything else needs doing just let me know :) Nath1991 (talk) 04:46, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

2010–11 in Australian football edit

Going to start this, but it's a big job, will need much help to bring it to a standard similar to that of 2009–10 in English football. Once completed will work my may through the seasons until the start of the A-League, and important years before that. If you can lend a hand, that'd be awesome. I won't be able to do it all at once, with Uni commitments and all, but it'll be the one article I'll be focusing my attention on. I think it's important we should have this article.
