Separate the manga and anime edit

There is again, a mix of information where one item is not in one versus another, If it's alright, I'll sort through and say what comes from what. We also need images from both the manga and anime of various items-- I have most of the manga ones and some anime, but I'd prefer someone find legit sources and we vote on which items wil get images and which don't.

I'll be sorting through the list now.. if anyone objects strongly, please state so. --Hitsuji Kinno 06:35, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reordering the info is good... I can only add info on anime items up to The death of Telulu in S (the computer with the rest of the anime is down) and pgsm (Via youtube) I don't have access to the manga though. Though try not to compromise all my hard work!Lego3400: The Sage of Time 21:51, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Add Japanese names? edit

I think the Japanese names should at least be typed out or mentioned somewhere... how do you want to handle this? Should it be the same as the Sailor Senshi names? --Hitsuji Kinno 07:14, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Missing items and possible edits edit

Crystal Time Key, Moon Birthmark? (it does apparently have power and stood in the place for a tiara later--manga and anime it seems to have some significance to the plotline, plus light mention that it is in the shape of the hindu symbol for energy would be useful fact to know and tell.), Chibimoon Tier (manga only), Jewel Odango, feather pearl hairpins (used once as a defense against an enemy in Act 2), Sailor Moon's various Tiaras..., Silver Moon Crystal, Pink Moon Crystal, cane (Tuxedo Mask uses it like a sword), Top (used in an attack by Tuxedo Mask), Ofuda (for Akurou Taisan), Bow of the Bow and arrow... (manga only), Moon Crescent Compact (I added it, but didn't give the proper name.. oops...) Moon birthmark for her too. Deep Aqua Mirror v the Submarine Mirror. Should be clarified that both have a different name, but are essentially the same item.

I think that if this page is launched then we should combine item articles. I see no hitches with making the Sailor Crystals, etc part of this page. --Hitsuji Kinno 07:40, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

When was Neptune's talisman called the "Submarine Mirror"? -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 10:02, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's the anime name. --Masamage 03:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Really?? I must have missed that. I've always refered to it as the "Deep Aqua Mirror". -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 03:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do what you want, it is Wikipedia... But please be a member of the project! (But I warn you, I am very protective of this page.... Most of the info on this page was done by me) also some of those items are there... Just under differnt names (Hair ornaments, Ginzushu, Sailor Moon's Tiara, Sailor Jupiter's tirara) Also The moon mark isn't really an item... Lego3400: The Sage of Time 21:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

^_^;;;; See the participants list and WP:OWN
I wholeheartedly agree about the moon mark. --Masamage 03:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I ment i would chase vandels on it to the ends of the earth about it!... And also its true, its missing alot of manga information. And should the holy grail really be with the talsmins since they aren't needed to summon them in the manga (theres 2 of them one for Moon and one For C-Moon)Lego3400: The Sage of Time 02:50, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blank Space edit

Anyway we can fill in the blank space at the top? (I maybe good at small tidbits but don't give me large tasks >_<) Lego3400: The Sage of Time 22:07, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I recommend using bold text instead of so many subheadings. --Masamage 03:25, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've replaced anything under a four = header with bold - I think it's shortened the TOC somewhat, and in a reasonably useful way. - Malkinann 02:11, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair Use edit

I've been told that we can't use Fair Use images in the article while it's still in draft, so I've commented them out. - Malkinann 02:11, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Really? Wheres it say that? Lego3400: The Sage of Time 03:43, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Fair Use criteria 9. If you look in the history of the page, a WikiGnome said so.  ;) - Malkinann 03:49, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
ARG techo-babble! I left a comment on the dission page there to see if thats what that really means.
AHA! Got a reply! It's a technical violation, but as long as the article gets moved to the mainspace in a reasonable amount of time, nobody's going to complain. --Carnildo 21:53, 17 November 2006 (UTC) I assume that means when we get near the end we can put them back in.Lego3400: The Sage of Time 05:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Righto - so when I started the article, it would have been a clear-cut case of "you can't use that", but when we're getting ready to make it a real article, we can put it in just before we move it to its proper name.  :) That makes sense. - Malkinann 07:41, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Character bios edit

I really feel that this page is too enormous to be of much practical use. There's so much in it that it can't even all fit in the table of contents--even with the recent header-fixing by Malkinann, it's absurdly long.

That doesn't mean the content should go away, or that the hard work is in vain; I just wonder if it shouldn't be refactored into a new section of our character articles instead. We can copy-and-paste the info right over without difficulty. For stuff that isn't character-specific, like communicators and henshin sticks, we can just use the arc summary pages. No sweat.

Any thoughts? --Masamage 05:58, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It could be like the Chibiusa article, which was pending decision based on this article. However, there are some items that are shared or used by other characters which might make it a bit tricky. For example, the Deep Aqua Mirror of the manga is given to Chibiusa for a while and put into her care, but that's a Chibiusa issue, not a Michiru issue. It might be worth it to give this article a chance to flesh out... I haven't gotten to give it a once-over yet and list out the Japanese, etc before moving it just to see if it can survive on its own--i.e. get it up to code-- and then if it's decided it's not able to, splitting it into the character articles will mean it's ready to be shipped without harming the character articles. (because this one will have references, etc). Then only bits of rewording would have to be done. Attacks on all character pages need a list of the Japanese after it anyhow since several use both katakana and kanji in the manga.--Hitsuji Kinno 04:36, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
If the items are split to the character articles, I don't see the harm in mentioning something like the Deep Aqua Mirror twice. On Chibiusa's page it can be explained why Michiru gave it to her and what she used it for. Meanwhile, on Michiru's page, it can be explained about the importance of the mirror as a talisman and the attack Michiru performed with it. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 08:34, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dub names edit

I think I just broke my brain looking for a reference and came upon the Holy Chalice being called the "purity force" by Amara in the second part of Super Cinderella episode (no idea on episode number since I don't really watch the dub). (where Serena's Heart Crystal, or whatever 10,000 names they have for it are taken.) I think some of my brain fell out. The dub is painful... --;; and someone thinks that Serena doesn't sound stupid in the dub compared to the original anime... Ugghh... ranting aside, I was thinking there are lots, and lots of names for the items. Even if we are going to move the items kind of making them like Chibiusa's page, or not, should we list the names for the dubbed items? 'cause many times they are renamed. I did a tally once of the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou in the dub... here's the list of *just* the DiC names. - Imperium Silver Crystal - Imperium Silver Moon Crystal - Silver Imperium Crystal - Imperium Crystal - Impyrean Silver Crystal - Silver Impyrean Crystal - Impyrean Crystal - Silver Moon Crystal (note: this is a different item in the manga) - Silver Crystal - the Silver Crystal (Japanese has no articles in it, so yes this counts) - That Crystal- the Crystal

not to mention Tokyopop and Mixx... (Imperial Silver Crystal/Imperium Silver Crystal)

I also realized through this they changed the dub while making the DVDs, because I swear in the same episode it talked about them being cousins while it aired on TV. 'cause I took notes. *dodges looks* Anyhow... might be worth figuring this out now rather than later. --Hitsuji Kinno 04:36, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Official Website edit

The official website listed out official names for several of the items! I'm serious. Should we put that under consideration? --Hitsuji Kinno 20:41, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Very probably! Where are they? --Masamage 22:40, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Second on List, Only SM's first series manga items. It lists things like the Maboroshi no Ginzuishou. You need flash, which is why I didn't link it. The official website is at: http://sailormoon.channel.or.jp. It might drift, but it should pop up into a new menu. The link is second on the right, it should pop up into a new menu. You navigate by hovering. There are also manga summaries of the acts, but the items list was what caught my interest. The half moon crescent thingie is counted as an item too... --Hitsuji Kinno 04:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Name list edit

Right, so on my website I'm listing out all items and all attacks. This includes separating the manga and the anime. (This isn't a promotional thing so don't think that.) Given this I've scanned pretty much all of Sailor Moon's various items. My partner is working on the anime items. I'm *slowly* and *painfully* working through the list and taking down their histories. I did find some interesting things. First there is a definite Tiara evolution on Sailor Moon. This probably should be noted since the same attribute is being listed for what appears to be the same object when it's not. The tiara changes with each transformation and thus the tiara changes properties throughout the manga. (I listed them as separate items, but for wikipedia, you just have to name the number and parse it.

The point is that if any scans are needed, I have them. (for moon.) --;; I'll have the rest for the others. I'll have all of the information for Sailor Moon's items, attack, etc up soon, so I'll be parsing that info into wikipedia.

Any notes people have or requests? I'll be taking stuff from the official website too. (Since my Japanese while poor, I can still read it.)

Oh and an additional note: I think the organization of this page is a bit confusing... any proposals or votes on it would be appreciated...

My proposal:

Series specific

Transformation

Communication

Tiaras

Masks

Weapons

Talisman (the set of 3)

Specialized

Crystals

Then the item listed would go:

Item (Official name manga, which Hitoshi Doi doesn't have) Alternative name, anime. Introduction, manga-specific, anime-specific.
