MechaCon edit

I made some few edits to the MechaCon page. I made sure they weren't breaking any rules of this group. I do want to say, I don't plan on helping with any other convention pages, but I will help with this one occasionally (read: yearly...ish) as I am a staff member for this convention. fix for Template:Convention_list ? edit

Template:Convention_list (or something associated with it) seems to be broken. Hope to see replies at Template talk:Convention list. --EarthFurst (talk) 23:41, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Apparently, an anon IP added an extra field to the table, which broke the table everywhere else. I don't know what the purposes of the addition and it is unnecessary to begin with, so I have removed it. —Farix (t | c) 00:17, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I tracked it down to someone trying to do something very weird with the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention's event history table. I've since restored the table and remove the extra fields. —Farix (t | c) 00:22, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Niigata Comic Market edit

This article needs a lot of work to fix the English from the Japanese to English, and to then match this projects format. I don't think I have the time to do this, so I thought I would mention it here if someone was interested in doing that. XinJeisan (talk) 21:51, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Claims of judge bias at World Cosplay Summit edit

So, twice anons have added poorly worded, unverified claims that in 2009 and 2012, the winner of the WCS was part of the same organisation as one of the judges, and twice I've removed them. If there were some sources I'd be happy to help clean up the wording and citations and what-not, but an English language search has yielded to me (1) an ANN article that mentions that a US team was disqualified from entering in 2005 allegedly for cosplaying Rose of Versailles and yet the Japanese got runner-up in 2006 despite also doing so, and (2) a bunch of forum posts where everyone talks about how everyone knows that the judges are biased. Anyone with better Japanese than me able to track down something more reliable? Confusing Manifestation(Say hi!) 01:59, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dispute with another editor on a convention page edit

I've been having some issues with another editor when trying to make edits to the Youmacon page. I've been repeatedly trying to add guests that have been officially announced for this year's convention or who were in attendance during previous years, but every time, my edits end up being reverted by this user for supposedly being unverifiable in that they do not appear on AnimeCons.com. Even the smallest details like correcting a guest's name get turned down for not being listed that way on the website. I've attempted to prove that my claims are in fact accurate by citing the convention website's guest pages for each year, or official social media announcements of a guest's appearance or cancellation, but he refuses to accept these. I understand the need to make sure content is accurate and to have good secondary sources to back up your claims, but this honestly feels like abusing Wikipedia policy to the point where it hinders the page itself. I've repeatedly attempted to contact AnimeCons.com to inform them of the gaps in their information, but each time I have received no answer and the entries for each year have been left unchanged. Any chance I could get an opinion on this from any other WP:A&M members? -- 136.181.195.25 (talk) 16:41, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

First of all, I'm not trying to impede your editing. My issue is with how your doing the edits, if you have to use primary sources, please properly cite it by including properly formatted citations with your update. What your doing by just posting links in the update text isn't citing. Including them without citation, among the cited updates from animecons.com isn't correct. Facebook and Twitter also most likely will not be considered reliable. If animecons.com is not responding to your updates (they do tend to list people individually then as groups they are part of), you might consider trying to contact the conventions guest relations/PR staff as animecons.com has stated they keep in contact with many convention staff from those areas. The Youmacon wiki page it's self is in need of cleanup attention, that will have to be my next project now. Esw01407 (talk) 17:40, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

FanCons templates edit

Since AnimeCons is part of FanCons, should templates be made for FanCons? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:21, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
