Lisa, Your contributions look great. We overlapped on a lot of the references, so I didn't modify much off of your original references and bullet points. Please take a look at the 4 main sections, I have added in a very basic outline, mostly just trying to organize my thoughts as I am reading papers - perhaps it will become too detailed of an approach later but for these beginning stages I think it helps (at least for me!) to try and keep it all organized - what are your thoughts? Julia, I added some articles I found that might be useful to your sandbox with a few quick bullet points. For the key points, I thought of 4 major areas that I think should be in the article: what paraptosis is, what separates it from other forms of cell death, examples of paraptosis, and possible future applications. Hey Lisa,

I just finished going through various resources and I guess I am leaning toward paraptosis. A couple of reasons were when searching JHU library resources the term paraptosis didn't result in thousands and/or hundreds of resources, the resources available to us seem well focused but not overly limited. Another factor I was considering was the wikipedia articles currently available on related subjects, such as apoptosis, caspase, necrosis, programmed cell death are well developed and could be great linking sources. Lastly, paraptosis seems to be a relatively recent pathway studied, and the effect of this pathway is currently being uncovered on nervous tissue, neurodegenerative diseases, and different types of cancers — so it seems that this topic/page may have lots of potential in the future as more is medically understood.

Again, no pressure, I am still totally open to another topic! These were just a few of my observations - Did you have any conclusions as you went through the available information? Jhayes21 (talk) 19:58, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

I think paraptosis is a great choice. The only other one I was thinking about was bacteriolysis because I'm into microbes (weird, I know) and I was really surprised that it didn't have an article already. But it's such a broad topic that I was worried it could be too much for two people to write a sufficient article in a limited time. I've never heard of paraptosis before, but it seems pretty interesting. I've found a couple articles about how it's the type of cell death caused by some cancer drugs, so it obviously has medical applications.
