Selecting an article

From when you were reviewing articles, did you find one that you had any particular interest in working on this semester? Of the two I reviewed, I think that viral transformation would be a very interesting topic. Polysomy could also be interesting because of the vast number of examples. Starting on our article

Hi! The unit 7 assignment is to create an outline of our article on one of our sandbox pages. I have started a very basic one on my sandbox page you should feel free to add to. We also need to discuss here what we think is important which will then be added to the outline and the article's talk page. I think some of the initial important information would be a basic summary of the concept which would likely be present in the lead section. We also should probably have a section that outlines the process of how viral transformation occurs. This process could be aided with figures or images. Let me know what you think. Great I will look into your sandbox page to see what you have outlined so far. Here are a few things we should add to our outline:1. Introduction - in simple words, WHAT is Viral Transformation. 2. Main Section: a) Viral transformation (how are viruses inactivated to become vectors in preparation of transforming other cells) b) How the actual virus transforms the other cells/mechanism of transformation (what changes take place - physiologically, biochemically, genomically etc.) c) Types of assays that Viral transformation is used in 3. Further applications - how can we use this in the biotechnology field? (Ie. think about personalized medicine, tumor reduction, delivery of drugs to individual cells etc.) What do you think? I'm not sure, but I can try to fix it. I have also had a lot of trouble trying to find suitable licensed images to illustrate our topic, so for now I am going to start adding improvement suggestions to the viral transformation talk page. My current ideas for the improvement suggestions are to add the sections you suggested. I also believe it would be helpful to explain the process of viral transformation not only in words but also through images or diagrams. This could illustrate the concepts to those who do not fully understand the technical biological terminology. Hey, I found a great article that gives an overview of our topic, http://www.mcb.uct.ac.za/cann/335/Trans1.html. I'm trying to add basic information to the wiki page tonight using that article. If I read correctly our progress report is supposed to be a very high level of what was done on our article page with a maximum of 5 bullets.
