Mostly useless edit

The report at Special:Disambiguations is mostly useless. Use Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links or Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages maintenance instead. Ewlyahoocom 08:17, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

How the heck do you remove articles from the disambiguation page once they've been fixed? I can't do a strike because there is not an edit link on the Disambiguation pages article nor on Template:Disambig.--OGRastamon 23:55, 30 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dont it do it automatically like with double redirects?

Hiding redirects edit

Is there any way a feature could be added that would allow the hiding of redirects linking to disambiguation pages? This would help greatly when trying to fix article links going to disambiguation pages. Mike5904 02:48, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Refresh? edit

Could someone please refresh this list? Ewlyahoocom 04:38, 3 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, the database query appears to be limited to the first 1000 entries. Is that correct? I can't figure out the sort order on this list but maybe it's still in the A's (or the B's).

Oh, on a side note right now I'm editing this page at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Special:Disambiguations

the "project page" tab/link up at the top links to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Special:Disambiguations

which redirects to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Deadendpages

but I got here from the page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Disambiguations

Ignore User talk? edit

OK, maybe an argument could be made for keeping Talk: in this report, maybe even User:, but User talk: is just useless here, isn't it?

Redirect edit

{{editprotected}}

Wikipedia:Special:Disambiguations should redirect to Special:Disambiguations, not Special:Deadendpages. Since redirects to special pages don't actually work, you might as well use {{softredirect|Special:Disambiguations}} instead. Thanks – Gurch 10:40, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Y Done. By the way, I like the name you use for the editprotected template! --ais523 11:23, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Special Situations: References Section In Disambiguation Pages? edit

I recently came across an odd situation: in most cases, a disambiguation page links to other pages, therefore verifying / citing the infromation on the disambiguation page itself. So, if you can't link to a page about the information you put on the disambiguation page, do you put a references section on the bottom of the disambiguation page. If you're confused, here's my case: There is a lesser known but notable (was praised by various magazines as the best grunge band to come out of Orange County) band, Smile. But, the page Smile(band) is about the 60's band, not the aforementioned, which is a 90's grunge band. I couldn't find information on wether or not to include references sections in disambiguations pages, there is nothing on this in Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), or its discussion section, I might put it in there, but I don't want to leave 3 blunders everywhere (1. Adding the reference and references section to the disambiguation page, 2. Adding this question here 3. Adding the question twice over there.) The disambiguation page in question is Smile (disambiguation). Nnnudibranch (talk) 03:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lists edit

Lists are not disambiguations, but many many are included in this special page as disambiguations--Kiyarrlls-talk 18:16, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ignore templates that redirect to disambiguation pages. edit

Many of the pages listed the list are there because of templates that are put at the top of the articles that show up with:

In my opinion, these are valid uses for linking to the disambiguation pages. If they can not be ignored, can they at least be filtered, or be considered lower priority on the list. Nutster (talk) 13:25, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Soon to be replaced by Special:DisambiguationPageLinks edit

Special:Disambiguations will soon be replaced by Special:DisambiguationPageLinks. They are essentially the same thing, but with changes behind the scenes. See Extension:Disambiguator for more info. Kaldari (talk) 01:08, 2 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Special:DisambiguationsWikipedia:Special:DisambiguationPageLinksSpecial:Disambiguations was replaced by Special:DisambiguationPageLinks. The page is fully protected as well as move protected, so an update of the redirect target to Special:DisambiguationPageLinks is due as well. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 00:46, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
