Suggestion: You might wish to make a caption mandatory, and then position the image citation after the caption, or after the relevant portion of the caption if multiple sources are used. It looked clunky in the second example on the sample page with the [Image 2]tag located before the caption. --Zfish118 (talk) 03:37, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Off the top of my head, you might add a caption parameter, or make the entire template an image caption template, displaying the caption, and then the image ref. Other references would need to be then incorporated into the caption parameter.
