The branchlist template is now the recommended way of implementing the Root page concept. It is only a reduced form of the navigational templates already in widespread use, but using the two topics in the heading to provide rapid navigation according to semantics principles and so reduce the clutter of a full listing. --Lindosland 17:09, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Electronics doesn't seem to use this any more, perhaps another example would be good? I think nav templates are useful in general, as an additional way to do things besides relevant links and categories. For example The Beatles and related articles, although filled with relevant links, and also well categorised, use a nav template at the bottom that presents a concise and organised list of things that might be relevant reading and I think it works quite well. ++Lar: t/c 13:07, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
