Move to meta? edit

Would this be a good candidate for a move to meta? Maybe other Wikimedia projects could benefit from this concept, as socks are an issue on most wikis that don't have identity verification (which includes all Wikimedia projects). Mr. Ambassador (talk) 22:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

User:Solumeiras edit

Funnily enough, the creator of this essay himself was blocked for sockpuppetry (as was the user who posted the message above this one!) -- œ 22:14, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wow, that's sad! Reaper Eternal (talk) 11:32, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Too much of this policing B.S. on Wikipedia edit

The Wikipedia has become more concerned with WHO wrote something than with WHAT was written. If two identities write correct things, it doesn't matter that they are sock puppets for the same person. (It also doesn't matter who said this, so I'm not signing it.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.139.122.42 (talk) 22:38, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Britney Spears edit

Is the mention of Britney Spears next to Down's syndrome and Paedophilia really needed? I know that this should be humorous, but it's a little harassing to compare some person to such things. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:21, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I agree it's an odd comparison. I have removed it. Harej (talk) 08:58, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merge? edit

@Moxy: Can we merge/redirect to WP:SOCKLEGIT? Much more comprehensive. (side note: I think it's amusing that the creator of this essay was blocked for sockpuppetry.) Mark Schierbecker (talk) 03:49, 18 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
