Bugs, Repairs, and Internal Operational News

This is a summary of recent technology and site configuration changes that affect the English Wikipedia. Note that not all changes described here are necessarily live as of press time; the English Wikipedia is currently running version 1.43.0-wmf.3 (b671e57), and changes to the software with a version number higher than that will not yet be active. Configuration changes and changes to interface messages, however, become active immediately.

Fixed bugs

  • If a new page is moved immediately after being created and the redirect is deleted, the page now shows up in Special:Newpages. (r40912, bug 3481)
  • If a page is edited, then moved and then deleted in a short space of time, the redlink for when the page was edited no longer shows up on Special:Recentchanges. (r41069, bug 15655)
  • Wikilinks in the site notice now work correctly when viewed via the secure server. (r40937, bug 10463)
  • Editing a page no longer sometimes causes several duplicate revisions to be created in its history. (r41089, bug 15656)
  • Administrators can no longer block other users when blocked themselves. (r41108, bug 15642)
  • There is no longer a useless "Other expiry:" text box on the protection form when an expiry is chosen from the drop-down and the page refreshed. (r41128, bug 15627)
  • The "active users" count now no longer mistakenly counts some active users. (r41137, bug 15682)

New features

  • The deletion log fragment shown when a page is created is now limited to 10 entries (with a link to the full log if there are more entries than that). (r41131, bug 15650)
  • The block log for an IP range is now linked from its "contributions" page. (r41149, bug 13156)

Configuration changes
