This course introduces students to general media and mass communication theories and their importance to the field. The goal of my Wikipedia assignment is to have students create or edit entries which are related to communication and media theories or relevant media-based topics. I am creating this assignment in lieu of a traditional research paper, in hopes of increasing the utility of using Wikipedia meaningfully for students, in addition to exposing them to writing factually based content.
