Your assignment will be to select a scientist from the "articles" tab and add to the Wiki entry about their life and work. Everyone will be asked to read at least one published paper by their scientist and one or more reviews that reference their work, and explain the significance of their research to a general audience (typically on the 6th-8th grade level). In addition, if you are able to add information about their education or life story, this information is valuable, too. Editing for Wikipedia is different from writing a term paper in that there is no specific word limit expected. Rather, your work will be evaluated on your progress through the writing process (including completion of weekly training modules and intermediate deadlines through the WikiEdu dashboard) and through your ability to convey the relevant ideas accurately, accessibly and clearly.

A key aspect of writing for Wikipedia involved carefully documenting your sources, so it’s critical that you keep track of which information came from which source throughout the process, and cite your sources throughout your writing.
