  • Please keep watch on these articles. Anonymous users with agendas or who like to spam unneeded information keep cluttering up these with horrible edits.
There seems to be excessive overlap between the two articles: is it the intention to do some rewriting, or should the duplicate material at Pyinmana simply be removed? Andrew Dalby 13:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That information ought to be removed, because most of the mentions of "Naypyidaw" have nothing to do with Pyinmana. Naypyidaw is only located within Pyinmana Township, so I think we should just mention that. --Hintha 05:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Someone has taken care of that. --Hintha 04:24, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that this article has been written with total biasness from the supporters of opposition groups. It is quite astounding to see that none of the project coordinators step into make any correction or report of vandalism, or even the least requesting for NPOV checks. It just goes to show how one sided this group is. Okkar 04:31, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Now that we have a WikiProject, and it is really getting active, (thank you so much, friends!) we need to consider merging stubs and badly-written articles into larger umbrella articles, proposed below.

Important announcement on subdivision renamings edit

I have just read a Burmese news article [1] that states that the divisions of Burma have been named to regions, as per the 2008 Constitution. Similarly, six self-administered zones have been officially announced by decree (20 August 2010). Just a heads up on article renaming in the coming for:

Also some cleanup work:

New articles need to be made for these zones:

Thanks, --Hintha (talk) 11:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I propose the merger of Myanma diplomatic missions into Foreign relations of Myanmar. Both have good information, neither is great, but the combination would improve both. Chris 17:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

*multiple articles into Protestants in Myanmar

I think this cat should be renamed Yangon, because most articles in Wikipedia now use Yangon except in contexts referring to British Burma.--Hintha 01:35, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You know better than I do on this one (what do folks who live there call it, is the test-I live in Colorado Springs, folks here just say "The Springs"), but in order to make it change, there is no available option to just move it, you have to make a rename request at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/ Chris 04:06, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved all of the articles from the Rangoon cat to the Yangon cat. --Hintha 00:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

*multiple articles into Burmese Kingdom-it's a horrible article, but the bulk of the others are stubs, and it is a good place to grow them from, and catch information for the uninformed reader who doesn't know where to look. Chris 17:28, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I actually did this the reverse direction, created a template and broke this stinker up to bulk up smaller articles. Chris 06:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • multiple articles into Burmese martial arts-the only reason I suggest _any_ of these merges are there are so many little stubs, a larger more inclusive article would be better. Chris 18:19, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I agree, and there need to be many formatting changes. --Hintha 07:10, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • cleanup and expansion of Mahabandoola, surely there is much more to be said. Chris 02:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
