Goals
The project primarily aims to
  • create and improve articles related to the sport of figure skating.
  • set up consistent structural and graphical layouts for displaying data on figure skating-related articles.
Priority task
Please help updating skaters' biography pages, following the latest guidelines. This includes a full revamp of the {{Infobox figure skater}} and the addition of the following new templates:
  1. Infobox: Replace the old medal templates with the new {{Figure skating infobox medals}}.
  2. Programs: Replace the old program tables with the new {{Figure skating program list}}.
  3. Competitive highlights: Replace the old tables with the new {{Figure skating competitive highlights}} table.
  4. ISU personal bests: Move the PB scores from the infobox to the detailed results section, using the new {{Figure skating personal bests}} table.
  5. Detailed results: Replace the old tables with the new {{Figure skating detailed results}} tables.
Parentage
Getting started on an article
  • Take a look at recently featured or good figure skating articles on the right (since 2021), which meet the latest quality standards of Wikipedia, and use them as orientation for your own article regarding structure, language, and style. This also includes the formatting of images, tables, and references.
  • Read our style sheet WP:FS STYLE and use its tipps and suggestions while creating, writing, and improving the article.
  • If the article is notably short, tag it with a stub template.
  • Use an external link template if any apply.
  • Tag the talk page of the article with {{WikiProject Figure Skating}}.
Tasks
If you are wondering where to start, consider helping with these tasks:
  • Check something off our to-do list:
Open tasks for WikiProject Figure Skating.

Edit or discuss these tasks.

  • The skater with age and season
  • The exact event (like 2013 NHK Trophy) and competition segment (SP/FS) or gala, podium etc.
  • The program with the name of the music piece and choreographer
  • The name of the costume designer (if known)
  • The name of the technical element or move shown (or starting/ending pose). Of course, we recognize that it's not always possible to identify, for example, the jump type and revolutions from just one shot, but we would ask that the user downloading the images do the best they can.
  • Skaters whose names already have articles/disambig pages: Leslie Cliff (English, pair skating 1936 Europeans silver medalist)
  • To Standardize: Skating program tables, competitive highlights tables, and competition results tables (if any) (See note on discussion page about this)
  • Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of figure skating people
  • Add table templates to exisiting skater bios:
