The Darius Dhlomo Drive is an attempt to clear one of Wikipedia's oldest and largest copyright violation backlogs. The backlog started at over 23,000 articles, and at the time of the drive, was whittled down to under 7,000. The drive will go from April 15 until the backlog is cleared, however long that may take.

Due to the nature of the drive and the violations, this is not one that focuses on trying to get the most work done in the shortest time. As a result, there are no rankings or barnstars to be given out. Cleaning such a serious mess and making Wikipedia that much more reputable is its own reward.

Background edit

Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Darius Dhlomo began in September 2010 after the editor was indef-blocked due to many copyright violations found. Many were removed and cleaned in the following months, but by 2011 the progress had mostly stagnated. This drive will hopefully reinstill the great progress that had been made.
