September 17 edit

Hello. I wrote the article by stating fact from the articles. Can you give me an example of what you feel is opinion in the article? Thank You, Sonjaydewing (talk) 00:13, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article discusses the product at length (how simple it is, how legal it is, a rather insufficient explanation of how it works and so on) and provides next to no information on the company itself. How many employees does it have, what are the revenues? Did they get seed funding, and if so, how much? The article doesn't tell. The "company" content seems more of an empty shell for the "look at our great product" content. Huon (talk) 03:54, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I created this article on August 26th and it was rejected because there were not enough references. I worked on this and added a lot of references but still no approval. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Martine_Fougeron Can someone tell me if references are still the issue with the article? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marjol80 (talkcontribs) 01:20, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's still the old decline message which is kept as a historical record until the draft is accepted. The draft has been re-submitted, but not re-reviewed yet. Please be patient. Huon (talk) 03:54, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matthew Vanitas Thank you for your letter. I got your message. I am new at Wikipeida. Your message said my submission was denied for now. I want to be able to write my submission How do I properly write my submission and put my photos on Wikipedia? Thank you Asaph Adonai Supermarket Pianist — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supermarket Pianist (talkcontribs) 01:34, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You will have to cite reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspaper articles on Adona. You may also want to have a look at our guideline on conflicts of interest - writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged, and it would probably be best to wait until an editor not associated with you decides to write an article about you.
Regarding the images, that's an issue of copyright. Do you own the copyright for those images? Are you willing to release them under a free license so that everybody may re-use and modify them for any purpose, including commercial purposes? If so, you can upload them to the Wikimedia Commons via their Upload Wizard. However, whether or not the draft will be accepted does not depend on the images. Review of Halo Dogs Ltd edit

I am reviewing Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Halo Dogs Ltd -

I Noticed that an article on the same subject exists: Halo Dogs.

What is the procedure now? Thanks --Itemirus (talk) 06:50, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind - I didn't notice there is an appropriate tag when declining. --Itemirus (talk) 06:52, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How do I get my figures into the article? It would be fair to eventually reviewers that they are able to see them here.

Firstly I have corrected the link to the draft. It seems to me you need to create tables for the figures - see Help:Table. However your draft has many other issues that need attention, I'd advise you to seek help from the specialists at WP:WikiProject Medicine, they can help you with the requirements for articles on medical subjects. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:49, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One major problem is that it reads like a research paper not an encyclopedia article. I am not a medic, so I cannot tell if it is original research, but one give-away is that it has a "Conclusions" section - Wikipedia articles don't draw conclusions, they just present what is already reported in reliable secondary sources.--ukexpat (talk) 18:29, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After submitting my draft from my sandbox page I found warnings that the page already existed and telling me to rename the page. I then transferred all of the text to this page (Articles for creation/Sidney Mason Stone. Is it still included in the submissions now that it has a new title/location or does it need to be resubmitted from here?

I was just wandering why my article for creation request was rejected — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kev sandall (talkcontribs) 14:51, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kev sandall, did you read the comments left at the top of your page? You need to demonstrate WP:Notability, that is, that news media or academia has found it worthwhile to write about this FC. Otherwise, we have no objective coverage to base an article on. MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:09, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My article on Vimal Shah, CEO, of Bidco Oil Refineries - a 27 year old company that he has steered to a envious position, has been rejected. I understand the presentation might be wrong and would like to request for a template in which I can do a similar kind of biography. Other wise I do not see why an individual of the capacity of Vimal should not be featured in Wikipedia. He has great following among Africans and were you to ask any educated working professional whether he knows Vimal Shah or Bidco - the answer would be yes.

I am sure there is a logical reason for the rejection and would like to know the reasons.

I am writer and would be greatly interested in contributing regularly to writing and editing for Wikipedia.

Regards

Hello Pdass: the reason the draft was rejected is that you have provided no WP:Sourcing whatsoever. Please understand that for Shah's own sake we must have a high evidentiary standard to prevent misleading or slanderous information being in articles. So for any given fact, there must be a "here's where this is verified" footnote which references a news article, business journal, etc. Please see WP:Referencing for beginners as needed. Note that sources affiliated with Shah (bio at a company he works for, personal website, etc.) can only be used for non-contentious data like birthplace/date. All claims to fame, accomplishments, etc. must be clearly cited to an independent, objective source.
I do indeed hope that you'll continue to work with us here at Wikipedia after you finish up your current article. Please don't forget to log-in when editing Wikipedia, because otherwise it's hard to converse with your account since we cannot see what username is addressing us. (note your comment above is signed anonymously rather than to your Pdass account). MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:08, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have rewritten the following article, and can't find a Resubmit feature anywhere. How do I resubmit this work for approval? Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Center_for_Undergraduate_Research_in_Mathematics

Thanks, Dmcoff Dmcoff (talk) 17:56, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits deleted the original AFC template. I have added it back so all you need to do is click the "Resubmit" button in the pink box.--ukexpat (talk) 18:03, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, we are interested in submitting artists bios on wikipedia. We attempted to submit a Bio from KNS Tha Engineer, but it was rejected. We'd like to resubmit within the guidelines of wikipedia and create a wiki page for KNS. Please help. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abbrecords (talkcontribs) 18:24, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was rejected because all it said was "Hello"; that is not a draft for review. Either you were just testing the system, or else you didn't save your draft right. Before you begin, I strongly urge you to read WP:Notability (music). This policy explicitly lays out what you must prove for a musician article. If your draft does not meet the standards laid out there, it will not be approved, so it is very important to read and understand it. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:17, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  Question: question

How do I edit my article that was denied. I need to modify some of the content since I don't have a proper source.

Thank you, (Seapointeestates (talk) 20:51, 17 September 2013 (UTC))[reply]

There's an "edit source" link at the very top of the page, between "read" and "view history". See also Help:Editing. You should first get unblocked via the {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} template (replacing "Your reason here" and "new username" as appropriate, of course). Huon (talk) 00:32, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I just did a minor edit to an article I submitted, Ryan Begelman, a couple weeks ago and it got bumped to the back of the line. Does every edit bump articles to the back of the line or was this a mistake? Is there anyway to make this not happen?

Thanks! Dacusthompson (talk) 23:07, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually that doesn't bump back the article at all unless you submit it a second time; I expect what you saw was just that the queue got longer, not that your draft's position within the queue changed. Drafts aren't necessarily reviewed in chronological order anyway. Huon (talk) 00:32, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: ARTICLE: Bradwardine and District Timeline

This submission was rejected. I'd appreciate knowing the reasons for the rejection so I can improve it and resubmit.

Thank you

Dilys CollierTyndalstone (talk) 23:16, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Tyndalstone. The reviewer has left a detailed message at the top of the page at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bradwardine and District Timeline. Also, I believe that I talked to you once before about this topic, and you told me that you had adapted this material from a book. If by this you mean that you have totally rewritten the text in your own words, that's fine. However, if you have just selected sentences from the book and added them to the submission, this is a copyright violation and you should remove it until it is rewritten. —Anne Delong (talk) 23:36, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
