December 31 edit

I submitted an article in August 2012 . It was rejected because the citations were not correct. These changes were made in September 2012, but the page has not beenreconsidered. How do I bring someone's attention to the fact that the changes have been made so the page can be approved and available to the public? SPepper2 (talk) 01:01, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have re-submitted the draft for you; you can do so yourself by adding {{subst:submit}} to the very top. Huon (talk) 01:08, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There! =D About eight years ago I tried to make a page on Wikipedia about a man with three names: "Charles Reese", "Ebony Anpu", and "Frater 137." It was my first attempt and before I could get around to providing decent references or sources some Admin came along and deleted it and started all this wiki-stuff I didn't understand and couldn't fight. This made me very sad as I wasn't even finished yet. I was told that the AFD would eventually disappear and I would be given the chance to attempt the page again, but here we are almost 9 years later and all 3 of his names are STILL blocked! I don't know much about wiki-admin stuff, but is there any way to get the AFD of these 3 names removed, so that I can try again? I have much better sources this time (the reason given was "Not Notable") and it doesn't seem fair to "ban" a person from wikipedia FOREVER just because of one failed attempt, does it? Any advice would be appreciated.Barrettdylanbrown (talk) 02:00, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the old article (deletion discussion) was deleted because it didn't establish Reese's notability and was so cofusing that multiple editors couldn't tell what it was about after reading it. Going by your old account's talk page there were attempts to simply re-create the deleted content, which of course isn't acceptable and led to the salting of these pages. If by now you believe you can write a well-sourced article on this person that clearly establishes his notability per WP:BIO, I'd suggest writing a draft via the Article Wizard. Once we have a draft that's ready for the main articlespace, we can request unprotection of the title and move it into the mainspace. However, I'd strongly advise against re-adding that same old content from 2007 - given the history, that might get you into trouble because it will likely be seen as disruptive. Concerning President's Cup ("Final Four of College Chess") I would appreciate some help. I am new to creating wiki pages. I also forgot my password and the auto reset hasn't yet responded (I'm not trying to hide my identity).

would someone like to look over the draft and put it in better format, also citing the refs and adding links?

Thanks

The draft has been accepted, but it needs better sources. The only secondary sources are the "Articles about the President's Cup published in Chess Life magazine", and there's far too little information to idetify them. Which issues contain those articles, and which of those articles confirms which of the draft's claims?
Since your IP address is already associated with the draft, I see no reason why you shouldn't improve it yourself even while not signed in to your account. Huon (talk) 12:24, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
