Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Featured Content Drive
WikiProject AFC has come very far since its creation. It now has a whopping 57 members, a JavaScript helper, a mass moderation script which the author of this page is too lazy to find, its own barnstar, a backlog drive, and an impressive 1028 creations (as of 04:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)). However, there's one problem. The category Category:FA-Class AFC articles is still empty (as well as the A-class category, but no one cares about A-class except those people over at the Military History WikiProject ;)). Additionally, the category Category:GA-Class AFC articles has only two articles, both written by the same user.

That's right, we actually expect you to create content instead of mindlessly reviewing AFC submissions, however addicting the latter may be. How does one write a featured article. Giano kindly illustrates to us fools how to do it. The normal peer review process may be used to get suggestions, and of course the article must comply with the manual of style. If worst comes to worst, you can always ask someone here for help and let them steal your glory.
The important thing to remember with featured articles is not to be afraid of FAC! The people there will actually help fix the problems in your article for you... if you're lucky.
Good articles are also welcome. Good articles are often a bit easier to write, and so if you don't want to spend hours poring over each detail, this probably is the best choice. Be aware that peoples' standards at GAN vary quite a lot, so don't be disappointed if your article fails at first try.

A tally will be kept for each user's FAs/GAs written. Collaborations are welcome; collaborators will each be counted as having an additional FA/GA on their count. If a single FA is written, or two GAs, an AFC barnstar will be rewarded.
