Wikipedia suffers from a massive amount of articles with the /temp suffix, or one of its numerous variations, that are included in the article count. Like with Wikipedia:, if these articles were to be included in the main namespace, they would make the user feel that the amount of articles on Wikipedia has been inflated. By preventing / from being counted, articles with titles such as S/2004 S 10, would be skipped over, and if /temp is prevented from being counted, its numerous variants will still be. /Temp articles exist as an extra space when an article is being rewritten, either due to a copyright violation, or when they are simply in a state of disrepair, such as Manifold currently.

Articles kept in a uniform Temporary: namespace prevent /Temp, /temp, /rewrite, and other subarticles from cluttering up the main namespace and are more organized. Like Wikipedia:, they would be disregarded from the article count, and still be included in the count of total pages. A second new namespace, Temporary talk:, would be used for discussion.
