This is currently just a wrapper of a subst version of Template:Saved book. However, if you look at its current transclusions, such as at Alphonse Daudet and Lycée Michelet (Vanves), you'll see that the usages there are incorrectly used as citations (which are broken). Books are created much less now so there is no real need to have a wrapper template. Additionally, this seems to have either gone of out sync with the main template or completely changed at some point as the parameters in the documentation aren't supported at all. Making this a red link will help correcting these citations when they happen (redirecting is less ideal as "book" could reasonably be more than just a citation template).
