Template:C class corvettes (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Redundant - replaced by Template:Comus class corvettes. Nothing links to it anymore. Non-controversial (the contents are repeated at the alternative, but correctly named, template) Shem (talk) 20:37, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Kablammo (talk) 21:07, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Set of templates only used on one article. Could be replaced by Infobox Officeholder WOSlinker (talk) 16:10, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I created these a million years ago, before there were standardised infoboxes, and before there was even conditional template syntax. Happy to see them deleted. Hesperian 23:39, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Endref (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Template is little used and of limited usefulness. It includes a reference list, making it difficult to see that an article has a reflist.Auntof6 (talk) 04:37, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recently-created template makes it quicker and easier for me to create articles. Martin (Smith609 – Talk) 14:21, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can understand that. However, it's not of enough general use to be maintained in template space. --Auntof6 (talk) 19:19, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Should be substituted, not transcluded. Possibly wants userfying too. PC78 (talk) 14:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Userfy Not really useful for general use but ok as a user specific tool. -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:46, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete or userfy on request. --Bsherr (talk) 15:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Userfy If it is helpful to at least one editor, then it shouldn't be deleted. However, if it is helpful to only one editor, then it should be userfied. Set Sail For The Seven Seas 284° 48' 30" NET 18:59, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Flagdeco (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

As per WP:ICONDECORATION. We don't decorate for the sake of decoration Gnevin (talk) 00:28, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Use flagicon if a flag is needed, otherwise don't use one at all. PC78 (talk) 14:48, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Absolutely, per nom. DARTH SIDIOUS 2 (Contact) 10:45, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I created this template as an alternative to flagicon, so that certain constructs can be compliant with both WP:MOSICON and WP:ALT. For example, it is not uncommon to see something like:
    France Paris, France  Paris, France
This is compliant with the Manual of Style ("Accompany flags with country names"), but as written, a screen reader would say "France Paris France" because flagicon uses the alt and link attributes for the image. Using flagdeco, such as:
    France Paris, France  Paris, France
a screen reader would simply say "Paris France", which is obviously much better. Another example, which also avoids "France" being read twice:
    France France  France
I'm puzzled why this template would be nominated for deletion without any attempt to understand its purpose. Indeed, I wrote "This template can be used when the article text immediately adjacent to the icon provides the associated link for the flag" for the template documentation. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 15:56, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per "This template can be used when the article text immediately adjacent to the icon provides the associated link for the flag." If this were deleted, then flag also would be deletable, as its flag is also purely decorative. Pædia 16:00, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
