Trying to remember a TV movie edit

I've been trying to recall the name of an American television movie from roughly the early 1980s. It was about a luxury ocean liner from earlyish in the 20th century (20s or 30s) that sank. When the wreck is found, many of the survivors of the ship are still alive (!) living in the trapped air of the ship and have developed some technologies to help them live (yeah, I know, not very plausible). I believe it was played on two successive nights originally, and I saw it repeated a couple of times in subsequent years. I don't recall which network it was on. Anyone have any ideas? -- Flyguy649 talk 00:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beyond the Poseidon Adventure? --Joelmills (talk) 02:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. It was out around then, though. -- Flyguy649 talk 04:59, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What about Lucitania or Titanic, movies based on them? SilverLeaf209.226.138.43 (talk) 18:44, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Goliath Awaits (1981). IMDB profile, more info, NYT review. Anyone for creating the WP article? SS Goliath is already mentioned in List of fictional ships#Film. Hqb (talk) 19:21, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's it! The name rings a bell. Strangely, I don't remember anything about some of the storylines mentioned in those references... must be due to what I found exciting when younger. I'll look into writing an article after my wikibreak. Cheers! -- Flyguy649 talk 23:29, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bergman's Religion? edit

I just finished watching The Seventh Seal for the first time, and now I find myself wondering what Ingmar Bergman's religion was. Any Help?68.84.254.227 (talk) 04:02, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Though he grew up in a devout Lutheran household, Bergman later stated that he lost his faith at age eight and only came to terms with this fact while making Winter Light.. Corvus cornixtalk 04:38, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rule 34 edit

I've been wondering this for years. According to Rule 34, there's pornography for everything - examples include the Smurfs, 9/11, and Cream of Wheat Cereal - but is there a kind of pornography where people are shown expressing intimacy and caring for one another? In other words, they aren't merely engaged in animalistic sex, but they seem to have a genuine relationship? I suspect it's the one exception to the Rule. If this is a genre, does it have a name?

Good luck!

That would probably be classed as erotica rather than porn. --Richardrj talk email 09:25, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rule 34. (Also briefly mentioned in Wikipedia's article on 34 (number)). ---Sluzzelin talk 10:22, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Rather disturbingly I've seen porn in which foxes and horses(unicorns) are shown being intimate with one another.. Followed by penetrative sex - so no.87.102.16.238 (talk) 12:20, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If that disturbs you, you had better avoid reading anything about Furries. / edg 04:41, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Surely the OP is asking about soft core pornography? There are many porn movies where a storyline is actually attempted, with varying degrees of success. A recent example IMO would be 9 Songs... Sandman30s (talk) 13:25, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Step Up 2 edit

Is Step Up 2 still in theaters? I really want to go see it. SilvertLeaf209.226.138.43 (talk) 18:34, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would depend on where about you live, but http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1023481/releaseinfo shows the release dates for a variety of countries. I'm not sure how I could find out if is still playing in cinemas - your best bet is to find your local cinema/s website/s and check their. It should be relatively easy enough - in the UK we have city-specific schedules available to view online.

What is the title, Ace Tone? edit

The cast credits for the movie, Local Hero, listed several actors as Ace Tone. An internet search returns info on the chemical acetone, but not the character, Ace Tone. Is the term applicable to a trade or a movie term for an extra or something else?72.226.111.1 (talk) 22:24, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Try this or the Local Hero article. I think it may not be a character at all, not sure what it really applies to. FusionMix 23:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Acetones was the name of the band that played at the party for the Russian captain. céilidh (my bad, the party wasn't specifically for Viktor). Clarityfiend (talk) 05:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rule 4081 edit

In music, what is "Industry Rule 4081?" NeonMerlin 23:35, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I'm correct, it's Make it up as you go. It can pretty much mean anything, it's like (insert word here) 101. FusionMix 23:49, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you heard that in a rap song, then there are no set rules. It's all made up. Although this story claims it is "Don't Smoke Blunts In An Executive's Office". This idea of stating the "industry rules" comes from Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest) who said "industry rule 4080 - Record company people are shady" in the song "Check the Rhime" on the album The Low End Theory.--droptone (talk) 11:52, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Industry rule number 4081, never battle KRS-One.
