Wikipedia:Peer review/Leatherface/archive1

Leatherface edit

I've listed this article for peer review because I am trying to figure out how close it is to meeting a Good Article (GA), or even a Featured Article (FA), criteria. Reviewers should note that the number of citations and their organization was necessary to achieve the full scope of the character, as the series is well known to have a messy continuity with significant alterations to the character due to the frequent changes of the rights holders. I have listed all the Behind the Scenes, various differences in characterization in a neutral manner as per Wikipiedia's guidelines.

I'll give this a better look over lunchtime or after work, but I would suggest changing "Birth of a horror icon" and "Men behind the mask" feel a bit WP:PEACOCK-ish. Suggest changing them to "Initial creation" and "Men behind the mask" to something like "Casting and actors". Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:03, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, sounds good. In regards to the name changes, I specifically named those to fit the sub sections information, taking cue from the article on Jason Voorhees. I get what you are saying though and will try and find a more specific title for the first sub section. Paleface Jack (talk) 17:05, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from Z1720 edit

Comments after a quick skim:

  • The "Appearance" section needs a citation at the end of the paragraph, minimum.
  • The first paragraph in "Developing a horror icon" is too long, and should be broken up.
  • Same with the paragraphs in "Man behind the mask". Lots of other paragraphs are also too long.
  • Things attributed to multiple sources don't need notes, they can be WP:CITEBUNDLE
  • Sources in "Further reading" section should be included in the article.

I hope this helps. Z1720 (talk) 02:55, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the input! In regards to the first paragraph of the appearances section, it functions as an introductory outline of that section which I took its template from the featured article on horror icon Jason Voorhees. I will get to work on the other pointers. Again thanks for the input mate! Paleface Jack (talk) 18:13, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
