About Page Curation
Curating new pages is a hard job, but an important one. Page Curation tries to make it easier.
So, you've seen how the New Pages Feed works. Now on to the curation toolbar. As explained in the first part of this tutorial, the toolbar contains various ways of interacting with a new page.
Once you open an article up from the New Pages Feed, the Curation Toolbar should appear. The toolbar will also appear on every article that is in the New Pages Feed queue, even if you don't find it from the feed.
In this part of the tutorial, we will explain the non-editing functionality of the toolbar.
You can also access a lot of page's metadata using the "info" flyout (the button with the "I" on it). Click on that and you'll be presented with information on the article creator, possible issues of concern, and a compact page history. This metadata should be reviewed along with the text of the article, of course.
If you decide you don't want to review a page – no problem! You don't even need to go back to the New Pages Feed. Just click the button at the bottom of the toolbar that looks like a fast forward icon, and you'll be moved to the next page in the queue.
If you hold down your mouse over the toolbar, you can drag it around the screen to move it out of the way. You can also hit the minimise icon (which appears as "->|") in the top right, or close it entirely with the "x" icon. If you've minimised it and want to use it, just click on the minimalised version and it should spring back again. If you've closed it, you should find a "Curate this page" link appear under "Toolbox" in the left sidebar – clicking on this will restore the Curation Toolbar. Your preferences for this are saved between patrolling sessions.
