Rock music is a worldwide musical phenomenon, that has changed modern music in a way which no other genre except hip-hop may ever be able to do. I think it is important that there is at least one place on the internet where people can find out about the state of the super-genre in India, where rock has had a presence since the 60s. This article is not only potentially very interesting, but also will help Indian musicians achieve the global recognition that many other countries rock musicians have, and will serve as a place where both Indian and non-Indian can inform themselves about the Indian scene. I have tried my best to start the article off, but it needs much more information, preferably from people familiar with rock/metal in general, or even better, the scene in India. The article will require lots of stubs for other topics mentioned, and will require further expansion of the history, and sub-genres. Heavy metal in India and Indian diaspora is also present, but since it is very-under exposed, it requires even more attention. Vastu 14:17, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A fantastic idea Vastu. I only wish i was knowlegable about the subject so that i could help you. by the way, early RD Burman sounds like there's a lot of rock & roll influence in it also. if you think of a way that an ignoramus can help you, just give me a shout. good luck. Im sure you can help the article even if you dont know the scene very well :-) I am not too familiar with it myself, having found most of those bands via the internet Vastu 16:54, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With music bands like Parikrama, Josh and Prestorika emerging. I think we need to give this article a go! --Andy123(talk) 10:52, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
