Wikipedia:Meetup/Boulder/General social dealy

We totally need to get together more often and have fun as only wikipedians can do! Because, like, awesome folks, and awesomeness and crap I need to catch a bus I'll... uh... what was I saying? -— Isarra 20:50, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When edit

An idea was biweekly or some such, maybe friday evenings or perhaps over lunch on saturdays (or some of both?)... -— Isarra 20:50, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • If we're trying to recruit/involve students, weekday evenings (>5pm) would probably work best? Friday might be tricky for those of a partying disposition.
    So multiple times, then? -— Isarra 21:33, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where edit

Some nice places in Louisville, and the place in Boulder we wound up at for that wiknic was decent... hopefully someone can be a little more specific, though. -— Isarra 20:50, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • CU campus? University Hill? As usual, I aim for my own convenience :). -- Gaurav (talk) 21:44, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly areas to consider, but there may be better ones elsewhere precisely because they are elsewhere. The whole college thing tends to throw prices, services, and general amenability out of whack... -— Isarra 21:33, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BECAUSE WE CAN MAN And quite frankly some of us really need to get out more. -— Isarra 20:50, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Also helps work towards eventually setting up a Wikipedia student group at CU.
  2. Also creates a place for potential/interested Wikipedians to just show up and meet up with the rest of us.
  3. Also keeps us all in all the loops.
  4. Also helps folks in the area connect and get to know each other. Encourages folks to stick around and all that online too.
