Like 2016 and 2017 before it, the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season was yet another damaging year for tropical cyclones. The two names that will forever be associated with 2018 are Florence and Michael. Florence caused catastrophic flooding across North Carolina and South Carolina in mid-September. Michael, meanwhile, was the first Category 5 hurricane to strike the United States since Andrew in 1992. Together, these storms killed over 120 people and cost nearly $50 billion in damage. Most articles have links to United States. The US isnt a geographic feature. Geographic features are things like North America, the Pacific Ocean, the Himilayan Mountains, the Saharan Desert, etc.. NoahTalk 19:45, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Opens like a tabloid, "third in a series of three destructive and deadly years". Seriously, stick to encyclopedic writing.
  • Definitely not keen on that bold link in the opening sentence either, but hey, it's less of a crime than the tabloidism!
  • "It is these two major hurricanes that " -> "These two major hurricanes..." tighten it up, make it less of a commentary, and more an encyclopedic article.
  • Why Cabo Verde when 99% of our English language readers will expect Cape Verde?
    • In 2013, the island country decided that the Portuguese designation "Cabo Verde" was their official nomenclature. The National Hurricane Center began referencing "Cabo Verde" instead of "Cape Verde" back in 2016. ☁❄ϟ TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk · contributions) 22:55, 11 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • "landfalls" is piped to a redirect. "Landfall" is also, later, piped to a redirect back to itself...
  • " Praia, Cabo Verde" is ironically piped to a redirect too, Praia, Cape Verde, which then just links to Praia...
