I am nominating this for featured list because I've been working on this list for quite some period of time. Sobers is arguably the greatest all-rounder to have played Test cricket. The centuries list is almost nearing completion with all the red links turning out to new pages with FL stars. We should have got this long back!   • Can you link "all-rounder"?
  • In 2004, The Wisden Cricketers' Almanack elected I don't think the T in The should be capitalized, and Wisden Cricketers' Almanack needs italics
  • The date ranges in the references, for instance in reference 18 "Feb 26-Mar 4, 1958" should be "Feb 26–Mar 4, 1958", per WP:DATESNO.

  • Two of your three refs for "widely acknowledged" are from the same publisher (ESPN). I suggest you add some diversity to the sources.
  • " while capturing 235 wickets" this is possibly odd to non-cricket people as you're saying it in the same breath as his batting record. Perhaps you need to clarify "as a bowler" or something similar.
  • "for most runs and highest individual score" is that most runs in total? Perhaps also worth noting here what those records were.
  • "36 years later" not useful to a reader, maybe just "in 2010".
  • "elected him as a Leading Cricketer in the World for eight years" doesn't seem quite true, reads more like someone did some maths and worked out that he would have been the leading cricketer if the award had existed at the time. He wasn't "elected", he was a "notional winner".
  • "during the period 1958–70" no need for "the period". In English I'd write "between 1958 and 1970".
  • The ICC Hall of Fame is actually called the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
  • "After having played enough Test cricket" what do you mean? He was bored of it?
  • In the key, complete sentences need a full stop.
  • "match was Tied" why capital T?
  • Why is only London unlinked?
  • When sorting by date, the 3 and 2 test numbers are in the wrong order.

  • "five-in-one cricketer" I don't know what this means, so I'm sure other readers will have trouble getting it....
    • This is just a quote used to describe his ability to bat, field and bowl three different styles. If you want to remove this it's fine, as explaining this would get into too much detail. —Vensatry (Ping me) 03:59, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • "aggregating 8,032 runs with the bat" any real need to say "with the bat"? Perhaps "as a batsman" at a push, just to not confuse readers.
  • Boycott didn't really "went past him", he "surpassed Sobers' record", right?
  • No need to repeat Gary in the image caption.
  • "one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Century in 2000." maybe worth clarifying that this was one in five.
  • "In the fourth Test of the same series he went on..." last person you mentioned was Lara, so you need to reiterate Sobers.
  • In the spirit of wikilinks, you could include History of cricket in the West Indies from 1945–46 to 1970 somewhere.
  • Meanings in the Key should only have a full stop if they are complete sentences.
  • "First of the two occasions where a Test match ended in a tie.[26]" this is time-dependent so you need to pay heed to WP:ASOF.

  • Refs after "greatest all-rounder" are not in numerical order
  • "Sobers scored 8,032 runs while retiring in 1972" = > "Sobers scored 8,032 runs before retiring in 1972" - he didn't score the runs while he was in the process of retiring

  • The 1st sentence of the 2nd para is a little confusing. You mean this was his 3rd Test since 1954, 3rd against Pakistan or 3rd Test of the 1958 series between the teams?
  • Same for the last para. Do you think he made his ODI debut after playing 93 Tests? I think he had already made his ODI debut, before playing his last Test. (i.e he made ODI debut in Sep 1973 and played his last Test in April 1974).
  • In the note you say he retired in 1972 where as in the lead its 1974.

  • Comment: Might be worth mentioning that the "Batsman of the Match" wasn't a regularly presented award (perhaps add a note to the key), unlike the "Man of the Match" they have these days; most of the matches in the list don't have any such award. I was wondering why he didn't have more until it dawned on me that those awards are a more recent addition to the game, so I reckon somebody who doesn't know that piece of history would find it confusing.   • Support - About the only issues I can find is that 'duck' is not defined (and that really isn't an issue at all if the reader has a knowledge of cricket) and I would put a comma after "England" in the sentence saying he had 10 centuries against them.
