Watson is an upcoming American television series set to air on CBS. The series, described as a "medical drama with detective elements," is centered around the character of Dr. John Watson from Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories.[1]

Synopsis edit

One year after the death of Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John Watson, now head of a clinic specializing in rare disorders, finds him pitted against criminal mastermind Moriarty.

Watson was announced in October 2022, to be created, written, produced and showrun by Craig Sweeny who had previously worked on Elementary, another Sherlock Holmes adaptation from CBS.[2] The show was given a straight to series order, bypassing the pilot stage.[3]

By January 2024, Morris Chestnut was attached to executive produce and star as the title character.[4] Executive producer Larry Teng will direct the first episode.[5]

The series will be shot in Vancouver in June 2024, although the show's setting will be Pittsburgh.[6][7]

Release edit

Watson is due to be broadcast in Spring 2025, in the 10 p.m. Sunday slot.[8]
