WNWC (1190 AM, "Faith 1190") is a radio station broadcasting a Christian radio format. Licensed to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA, the station serves the Madison area. Faith 1190 has a sister station, "Life 102.5" (WNWC-FM) that broadcasts a contemporary Christian music format.[2] Both stations are currently owned by Northwestern College.[3]

History

The station was assigned call letters WERU on August 10, 1981. On March 12, 1985, the station changed its call sign to WMAD then on January 27, 1997, to the current WNWC/[4] The original WERU format was Adult Standards. It was also all news (CNN) for a time with the WMAD call letters, then back to standards before going silent and returning as WNWC.
