Notability of Port Amoral

edit

A tag has been placed on Port Amoral requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Oh, and yes, I did request deletion for that page. Call me all the dirty names you want; certainly won't hurt me.   Your obscenities won't hurt her, but they will swiftly get you blocked from editing if you go on like that. Wikipedia does not tolerate personal attacks. JohnCD (talk) 19:54, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

A small piece of advice: Wikipedia will generally only include articles that meet our notability criteria. This isn't a criticism of something, but more a concern about what we can actually write about them that is both neutral and verifiable to reliable sources. In general, if one has a start up band or other small organization your best bet is using websites other than Wikipedia to promote it and wait until the band has succeeded enough to meet WP:MUSIC or WP:BAND. In general, insulting people or repeatedly reposting will not help matters. Moreover, people are likely to react to such reposting by increasing the bar for when they will allow a recreation to stand (this isn't good or consistent with policy but it is a consequence of human nature). In the meantime, you may wish to edit other wikipedia articles that interest you. We have a lot that needs to be done and you are welcome to help out. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me on my talk page User talk:JoshuaZ. Thanks! JoshuaZ (talk) 20:14, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tone it down

edit

Please tone done your edit summaries. They are meant to be an accurate summary of why you are performing an action, with occasional editorial comment where necessary. Swearing and inviting people to "suck my dick" isn't cool. Also, your removal of apparently unsourced info is breaking templates. Please try to be careful. -- Flyguy649 talk 04:52, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nonsense of Chris Taub (House)

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Chris Taub (House), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Chris Taub (House) provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Chris Taub (House), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
