Stop personal attacks edit

I saw what Zora said, and like it or not that is no excuse to call her Jewish (she's Buddhist) nor say you will be there to kick her anything. Stop right now, that is completely against wikipedia policy. gren グレン 00:51, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi Zereshk! My understanding is that "rest assured I will be there to kick your *** as long as it takes" is not in concordance with generally accepted standards of behavior on the wiki. Thanks! Babajobu 00:52, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Zereshk, she's not Jewish, she was making a point about the multiculturalism and the like. In any case, I am not very harsh with people about personal attacks. I don't think they are very good but I don't both too much dealing with them as the create controversy and people through around "he attacked me" like pre-schoolers sometimes. However, your attack involved a physical aspect which... well, just never cross that line here, okay? I am not taking sides, Zora doesn't say things like that. She get frustrated because she doesn't think you have any sense of neutrality... and, I don't know much about your editing but Striver has made a mess of a lot of things with a strong Shia POV that is not neutral or scholarly. She may not have a case against you but she has a case against your writing. Historical Sunni-Shia relations has many, many problems that need to be fixed and I've seen other articles almost as bad. I don't think it's an attack against you because you're Shia or Persian (if you are in fact Persian, you are from Tehran no?). It's because she feels you don't separate your beliefs from your writing, and won't write neutrally... and I must say, in terms of neutral writing she is much better in my opinion. That's not taking sides, if she had said the same thing to you I'd have said something to her. gren グレン 01:17, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

My answer edit

She has called me worse things (such as "uneducated, mentally psychotic,..." etc). Would you like me to give you a list? Please stop taking sides when you dont know this vicious racist. She has had clashes with other Iranian editors as well. Would you like me to contact them for you?--Zereshk 01:01, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Zereshk, well I have to tell you that Zora has fought some battles for Muslims and Shia on Wikipedia...for example, as a relatively secular editor I thought the term "prophet" was inappropriate for Wikipedia, but Zora argued that Muhammad should be able to be described as "the prophet", and that this was not POV. She also has been supportive of the candidacies for adminship of other Muslim editors. I know she has a respect for, and interest in, Shia Islam, and can't imagine why she would be racist against Persians. However, the comments you describe her making are obviously unacceptable in Wikipedia.
On another note, Zora mentioned to me that the Shia Islam article had become full of PBUHs and so forth, so I was attempting to purge this sort of POV from the article. Not because I disrespect Muslims or Islam--I don't--but because encyclopedias are not written from this point of view. I would feel the same if a Christian editor described Jesus as "The Christ" and so forth. Wikipedia cannot speak to the "truth" of any particular religious tradition, no matter how fervently its adherents believe. Anyway, nice to make your acquaintance, and hope to see you around! Babajobu 01:05, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I've certainly been very angry at you, Zereshk, but I don't think I've called you names. If I have, I'm sorry. That doesn't mean that I don't still adamantly oppose many of your opinions and editing practices. Zora 01:11, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Zereshk, I'm not Jewish edit

Zereshk, I'm NOT Jewish. I've never been a Jew. My mother was a Mormon from Texas and my father was Swedish-Finnish. I was raised as a Congregationalist (a Protestant Christian mainline denomination) and converted to Buddhism when I was fifteen or so. Thinking that the Bundists were right in their rejection of nationalism doesn't make me a Jew in the ethnic or religious sense.

Besides, would it be so bad to be a Jew? What's wrong with that? Zora 02:13, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hello again, Zereshk! Just one comment...I noticed that in your chat with Zora you mentioned that American Jews are famous for their hatred of Iranians. Having lived for a number of years in the United States and specifically in Los Angeles, I must tell you that this is not at all the impression I got. In fact, at this point I believe that a significant proportion of American Jews are actually from Iran, or the children of people from Iran. To the extent that I interacted with Jews in Los Angeles, there seemed to be a great deal of mixing between American-born Jews and Iranian-born Jews, as well as much interest and curiousity on the part of the American-born ones about the culture and background of the Iranian-born ones. They didn't seem to hate Iran at all! Anyway, just thought I'd mention that; regardless, have fun on Wikipedia and see you around! Babajobu 02:46, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Ah, well I guess there are some nuances I didn't appreciate, then! Babajobu 03:11, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Avicenna edit

Hello Zereshk , on Avicenna's Talk page ,I wrote "Can speak any of these dialects etc" , and I meant that the person's words about "close examination" had no basis and change of dialects in time is something obvious, I didnt meant that Iranians cant speak these dialects! In fact I did a good search to prove the origin of Avicenna and added Persian-Tajik for being absoloutely unbiased since some sources call him Iranian and others Persian , so if in Persian-Tajik we interpret Persian as Iranian , then Tajik is a sucategory of Iranian family ,if we interpret Persian as Parsi as opposed to Azeri etc then Avicenna is both Persian and Tajik equally according.I am Iranian myself man!Pasha 03:58, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ibn Hawqal edit

Hi Zereshk,

I just saw your article on Ibn Hawqal; though I agree that Wikipedia badly needs an article on him, I'm worried that it seems to be copied word-for-word from the Encyclopedia of Ukraine. Am I misunderstanding? I've tagged it as a possible copyvio for now--if I've misread the situation, please just leave a note on the article's talk page. If you have cut and pasted this, please be aware that at Wikipedia we can't use information taken verbatim from copyrighted sources. Thanks, and happy editing! --Dvyost 05:17, 17 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hmm, I don't see that it's a copyvio.... it does look like it has been paraphrased... which, is fine if it's referenced I believe. Using my judgment as an admin I will not delete it since it doesn't seem to be verbatim for much of the article at all. However, I do encourage you (Zereshk) to cite where you got that information. gren グレン 07:17, 17 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
You know, I looked at this again, and must have just been blind stupid while I was editing earlier. Gren's absolutely right that this is a paraphrase and I'm not sure how I got the two mixed up on my screen. My sincerest apologies, and thanks to Gren for the catch. --Dvyost 07:23, 17 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Stubs edit

You, like Striver, have been creating a great number of stubs lately... please reference them so we don't run into problems with them... since they are (relatively) obscure subjects it may be hard to find them online so if you could just give us your sources it would make everything a lot easier. Thanks. Also, if you could add the proper birth/death categories when you have the information it would be of great help to the effort. Quality over quantity. gren グレン 03:33, 20 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Since I know (and thank you for it) you are doing a lot of work I understand why you wouldn't want to waste the time properly categorizing or adding stubs. However, please do write the names and pages of the books under a references section. You can copy and paste one bibliography and just add page numbers as they come up. You needn't add reference notes and if it is a paraphrase you can add a breadth of pages, (if the section is five pages just add 105-109, 210, 320 ) however just having the whole book is not proper. Having this in articles is not clutter it is necessary. We can take the academics at Britannica on good faith and not expect citings, but we cannot take random users from the internet. Please do this and I will try to look at your new pages when I have the chance to fix stubs and categories as are needed. I just saw you on new pages so tried to see what else you were creating and when I noticed a pattern I decided to ask you about it. I'm sorry if you see this as an obstacle but it is merely a necessity. Every article that makes it as featured, or even good must be well referenced (obscure figures' births are not common knowledge) even if not directly footnoted. There is a difference between the two and footnoting can be needless clutter, however referencing is not. It's avoiding plagiarism. Therefore I must add unreferenced when they are not. I hope you do not take it as picking on you, it is just because in the scheme of new articles yours are far more interesting than suicide art and therefore I do hope they come up to a higher standard than silly vanity articles and ones about new software. gren グレン 04:02, 20 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry about sounding curt, and know that I do appreciate your work on the many subjects. I am not trying to give you a hard time by any means. About Zora. She has been a good editor here since before I joined and is always willing to pick up a book and do some research. I haven't seen her interactions with you really (besides the Jewish thing) so I can't really say, but I would recommend trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Striver will say that she (and has said about me) is anti-Shia and I would definitely not believe that. She may have a point of view that is more sceptical about some Shia claims but if that is so it is because she is trying to have the utmost academic integrity. When Striver first came a while back... well, simple put he could be a real nuisance. Looking at this diff, he completely changed the Sahaba article rating the Sahaba in a completely unsourced manner that glossed over people having views that differed from his ranking. He has at other times been difficult and Zora, who takes the time to read scholarly books, on this manner has to spend more time arguing than writing. Now, I don't know your specific arguments but if you are coming off like Striver (and I know you support Striver at times) then I can see why she may be more irritable from the start. I mean, on Talk:Umar Striver is railing against her when she has a good point that should at least be discussed. Striver, may also have brought up a good point... but he adds "shame on you Zora" and crap like that in. We should not be talking like that... and I know Zora has been snappy... but, she has always been more civil in my book. So, try to keep good relations with her. She is not out to get Shia as Striver would say... she's probably just frustrated with Striver. So, it's good for you to help add a Shia point of view, but source it well and add it in as a neutral way, not as truth and things should be fine. Striver rewrote Umar, Uthman, and Abu Bakr all to say they were bad people... and that's now how you write an encyclopedia. So, I am glad you will bring more information about the Shia and Iran. This is very good and will help the readers, as long as you are not doing it to prove that either point of view is correct. Represent them neutrally and things should be fine... but, you have to be willing to talk and negotiate. Unsourced material anyone can change and can likely get away with it... but sourced material, if changed, will usually be checked and scrutinized to make sure the change should take place. I know you want to just be able to contribute and not have to argue about it... but, sometimes if people think you're writing too much from a point of view you will have to discuss it. That's just a reality that I can't change. I commend your efforts and I hope the above explains some of the situation and maybe will help to cool tensions. If not, I don't know. Good luck with studying MRIs that seems very interesting :) Thanks. gren グレン 14:02, 21 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Image Tagging Image:Tehranshomal.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tehranshomal.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Wikiacc (talk) 20:42, 27 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re: Images edit

Thanx for catching that one. This was one of the earlier images we uploaded when the policy for images was a bit more relaxed. I'm not sure where exactly I got the image from. I cant find it on my salvage folder from my old hard drive. But I'm thinking it was probably an ICHO (Iran Cultural Heritage Organization) image, which would make it a government image. I'll re-tag it.

There are probably some images floating around like that one that have unclear tags.

Thanx.--Zereshk 21:58, 27 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Also, why did you erase the Parliament image? That image is perfectly legal under the United States Copyright laws. I do remember that statement by Jimbo Wales. He said:

"...Unless there is something particularly strange about the copyright situation in Iran..."

As it happens, the copyright situation in Iran is anything but normal. Iran is not a member of any of the following International Copyright treaties:

  • BAC: Buenos Aires Convention
  • Berne Convention
  • Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against Unauthorized *Duplication of Phonograms.
  • UCC Paris: Universal Copyright Convention,
  • UCC Geneva: ditto
  • WCT: World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty
  • WPPT: World Intellectual Property Organization
  • WTO

Besides, this is a govt image. It is not a private, corportae, or individual produced image. i.e. it carries no proprietary ownership.

Also, the links need to be restored. These links are found on no other website in one place, and are very hard to find links (many dont appear on google searches). Many journalists, researchers, and students have been using the Iran page official govt links to access these govt websites.--Zereshk 22:02, 27 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi Zereshk,
Jimbo stated that Wikipedia should respect Iranian copyright laws (as if any of those treaties went in place tomorrow). Also, government works are copyrighted in most countries (and are enforced vigorously in some, such as Australia); if Iran is an exception, please notify me to that extent.
Wikipedia is not a mere collection of external links. The links could alternately be spread out among subpages (e.g. the Ministry of Commerce linked from Economy of Iran). If a list of links is needed, the DMOZ Regional: Middle East: Iran: Government category is just the place.
Thanks. --Wikiacc (talk) 20:21, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Greetings,
I am therefore taking it that you are saying that we should take Jimbo Wales above International Law and that we are to disregard the current United States copyright laws in consideration of a possible change tomorrow. I find that a bit problematic. I dont know what the fuss is about an image from Iran's parliament website that will be posted to explain about Iran's parliament on WP. There is no intellectual ownership invloved here.
That being said, if people here insist it is copyright violation, then so be it. I will have to supplant another image for it from another source.
As for the links, I disagree with you and firmly maintain my position. Even the link you posted says: "There is nothing wrong with adding a list of content-relevant links to an article". And it would be inconsistent to have such a list for United States, but not for Iran. They are directly relevant, and they do not overshadow or eclipse the article by any means.--Zereshk 22:35, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Hello Zereshk,
Yes, that is what I am saying. It is not a violation of international or U.S. law to enforce the Wikimedia Foundation's internal Iran copyright policy as it currently stands. If the image has no intellectual ownership, as you claim, a valid case can be made for fair use, nullifying its current status as a copyright violation.
Your comparison of the Iran links table to the links section at United States is somewhat similar to comparison of apples and oranges (to use a popular cliche): the links section at United States does not contain websites for every government department; rather it contains websites for the major branches of government; CIA, Census and Information Agency profiles; and even a few admittedly irrelevant, such as the DMV link; whereas the Iran table claims to contain the websites of every government agency and ministry, even those not mentioned, referenced or directly relevant to the article. --Wikiacc (talk) 22:57, 28 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I will replace the Iran parliament image. It can go. I have no further comment on that.
However, my argument on the links does hold, because you took out the entire table of links, deleting all of it, instead of merely cutting it down to links to key departments and branches of govt, as you say is the case for the US. My argument would be that Iran has many more branches of govt and key centers of power than the tripartate US govt. However, if you would agree and leave it up to me, I can cut down on the list and trim the link table. How's that sound?--Zereshk 03:23, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
I found the source of the Tehranshomal image. It's not an ICHO image. Therefore if youve decided that the parliament image cannot stay, then neither can this. Because I got it from a similar source.--Zereshk 03:48, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for resolving the copyright issues. As for the links table, I like your suggestion--it will definitely work and be an appropriate compromise. Thanks! --Wikiacc (talk) 20:43, 29 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi
  1. Think about what your words mean then write them! as in here to Zereshk: "...And about west azerbaijan. Kurds have a large population in this area, but kurd are not the major. only 20-30% of W.Az are kurds. although their polulation is growing and methastatic :) urmia has less than 5% kurds in 1340 but now they are about 25%; most of them are orginally from southern cities as well as kurdestan province. diyako is a vandalist and ultra racist person. he has some wonderful ideas such as 30% kurd population of iran..."
  2. I have NOT cited [urmia.org] as a source but as a link in the section of See also.
  3. yes as you see there is no materials in azeri turkish in that website but it can NOT be a reason that they are racists or...
  4. Noone cliams Azeri people are less than assyrians.
  5. Kurds of urmia mostly are from the Urmia and western and northen partts of Urmia and then from southern cities.
  6. I am NOT a racist. (maybe in future you will know me better).
  7. We do NOT discus about who are migrant or not, as well as we do NOT discuss that whose region or whose province it is (I think the owners of a city are all of its inhabitants not a specific ethnic or religious group.
  8. we discuss the population.
  9. I never claimed and never cliam "...Kurds compromise 30% of population of Iran..." (and nor the turks)
  10. I never wish other peoples rights be ignored because I have been one of the first victims of discrimination.
  11. Saqez (Sakiz) does NOT mean EIGHT in Turkish. it means chewing - gum (in fact herbaceous gum).

I think as a Kurdish my Turkish knowlegde is better than yours!))::

  • Thank You.

Dear Diyako edit

You think your turkish is better than me!!! ok, ok... then I should explain some thing about kurdish accent, if a kurd wants to pronaunce the word Saggiz, he says saggez, and saggiz means EIGHT.

I didn't ignore your rights too, I have kurd friends and I respect their cultural and political rights, but you shouldn't be so extermist. Ignoring Turk population of W.Az. doesn't help you.

In your last edit on Urmia you give this data: turks 50%, kurds 50% and 40% christian. we know that most of christians of urmia are armenians not turks nor kurds....then urmia is 140% !!!!!!

Migrants have rights as well as original settelers, but they can't change the history. in most of your articles , you claimed that W.Az cities are originally kurdish!!!

changing the facts ....Does it work? I don't think so.

what happens if kurds establish their own country? 1-Economy of kurdistan will be worse. United Iran has oil and more, but kuristan is a province with no significant mines and oil production or factories or Farmlands.

But why kurdistan economy is poor? the central government does not like to develop factories in kurdistan because of several crisis and wars happened in this area.

Please note that: All iran ppl are in poor condition. ok, there is significant difference between Isfahan and sanandaj, but kurds are not innocent in this progress. Most of them have strong desire to establish their own state, then kurdistan is an unstable area for economy.

Please send your answers to my own talk page, if you want to discuss more. --Dr.Hamed 22:50, 11 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dear Dr Hamed edit

Thank you for your answer.

  1. Is it srange that my turkish be better than yours?!
  2. saqez; the word Saqez here means GUM . And I should explain some thing about saqez. if you study a litle about kurdish language and its pronounciation you will see that it has the ability to pronounce many other languages for exemple Kurdish language, So I mean kurdish speakng people can pronounce the Turkish words saqiz (gum) and sekiz (eight) with no problem (maybe UNLIKE persian speakings) so the way they pronounce it as saqiz has a logic meaning beacause of many trees who produce gum in that region (around city of Saqiz).
  3. There are (and have been) enough sources to ptrove Kurds have been in thousand years in this province (area). But in fact this is your claim that is strange!
  4. About Kurdish Question I do not think so because kurds do NOT love war, blood and fighting they have been forced to defend themselves because of unjust condition and situation in which they are. In fact this is the faschist goverments and regimes of the Middle East who are not innocent not this oppressed ethnic group (as well as other ones).
  5. I see all of iranians are in poor comditions.
  6. About political topics I do not like to discuss in Wikipedia.

Thank You  Diyako Talk + 00:37, 12 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Iran page edit

Hi,

The changes you made to the Iran page are wayyyyyy too drastic. The format of the page was something that numerous editors had agreed on. You have taken out sections completely, deleted key internal links (keeping links that do not really matter), and watered down the page significantly. The section on the government (with the sub-sections) needs to be restored definitely. We based the page's design on the United States article. Compare the page the United States to the new page of Iran and you will see that it compares very little.--Zereshk 22:29, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I suggest that we keep your changes, but also retain some of the original formatting. The cities section, the political section, are 2 notable examples.--Zereshk 22:38, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi Zereshk,
I based my changes on the guidelines at WikiProject Countries and a selection of featured country articles, among them China, India, Cambodia, Belgium and Nepal. (United States is not a featured article.) I agree that it could be scaled back in certain aspects (e.g. moving the cities section around the page rather than/in addition to moving it to a separate one). If it seems that I have reduced some parts of it to less than "brief summaries", please tell me where this has occured. --Wikiacc (talk) 23:30, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

My involvement edit

You asked me to become involved as an admin - so I have to be neutral. I have stood back and only tried to show you two ways out of the dispute. You can not accuse me of being not evenhanded.

Further to have a different POV is not vandalism. Clearly I do not agree with Diyako's seeming aims of destroyng the unity of Iran, but this is not at discussion here. To keep reverting to shout at each other is not right. The user concerned has often been uncivil and pushy. I do not like this. But you have also often reacted very harshly where a simply calm word would have sorted matters. WRT the influence of WP on politics - possibly. You might well be right. But to use WP as a platform to proclaim one's convictiosn destroys exactly any influence WP might have. This influence is only possible with being seen to be neutral - this does obviously not mean being agnostic towards established facts. Refdoc 02:39, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi, sorry for being late. But I just wanted to thank you for your approach to the matter. It was fair. I also would give any authorization to represent my point of view in this issue, because I see a parallel approach and similar thingking on this matter. I personally have stopped editing on that articel because I have realized the futility of such an attempt to engage someone who is overzealous and would like to have things to be their way no matter what. I hope you will continue your contributions on the article. Thank you. --TimBits 02:01, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

ISNA edit

Hi.

Are we allowed to use images off of ISNA? I think not. Hence this image Image:Irangay teens.jpg , which has been downloaded from ISNA is copyright protected.--Zereshk 03:36, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

It would be considered copyright here; however, it is still usable under fair use defense, as it is a historical photo. --Wikiacc (talk) 20:11, 14 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
So we can use ISNA photos here under a fairuse tag? ISNA has an excellent repository of photos that we could use.--Zereshk 22:08, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
We can use virtually any images considered copyright if we have an adequate fair use rationale for their use. See WP:FAIR for more details, but for the most part ISNA photos should make an excellent addition to Wikipedia as fair use media. --Wikiacc (talk) 22:11, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Updated pages with current and accurate information edit

Recently I received condolence cards from people who had looked up "Dr. Heshmat," found the Wikipedia page that said he'd been executed by firing squad, and assumed that my father was dead. Clearly, it was extremely upsetting. I'm also extremely concerned that the government-sponsored tracking programs will incorrectly connect my father with people to whom he is not connected, thereby jeopardizing his security clearance, livelihood, and life.

We've already had trouble with this type of thing going back to 1979 when people used to call our house and say that they were going to firebomb us for having family ties in the Middle East. You should know that I don't shy away from sharing my history and culture with people UNLESS they are wearing KKK robes. So, I'm either open or very careful about it as circumstances warrant.

A few days ago I found the Wikipedia page, updated it with correct information, made a separate page to maintain the historical information on "Dr. Talequani Heshmat" and updated the links from other pages specifically so that nothing would be lost by making the correction.

At that point, as a new Wikipedia account holder, I didn't know how to figure out that you had put the old pages up and I didn't know how to contact you. By the way, why do you call yourself Zereshk? I love those little sour berries, but it wouldn't occur to me as a name or nickname for someone, unless perhaps you are known for having a sharp wit? My nickname is Parvaneh, which you probably know means butterfly.

Anyhow, I checked the pages today and found that they had been reverted and redirected so that the most current and accurate information was gone. I suppose that I can just keep logging in and correcting it every couple of hours, but this seems like a terribly inefficient way of making sure that accurate information is available on Wikipedia.

How would you like to handle this?

Looking forward to your sympathetic response,

CHeshmat 22:52, 17 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Persian Architecture edit

Hi Zereshk,

I'm ethnically Persian (parents are immigrants), and I'm currently designing a 800 square feet cabin for an architecture project. Considering your immense contribution on the Persian Architecture page, I was wondering if you knew any specific form or style with Persian houses (not mediterranean). (SeanMcG 23:16, 27 December 2005 (UTC))Reply

Do you know of any theme that is common with persian houses? (i.e. with Colonial-style houses, many subdivided spaces). (SeanMcG 23:16, 27 December 2005 (UTC))Reply

Hmmm didn't know Colonial style houses were mostly built in Iran. Is Mediterranean the closest style to a "Persian house?" I've heard that many Persian houses, unlike some Mediterraneans, do not have flat roofs due to the four season weather in Iran.

Actually you did help. My parents said the same exact thing about the architecture in Tehran- concrete and monotonous. I agree traditional Persian architecture is much more rich and unique, but I haven't yet seen it applied to small houses or anything besides large public buildings like the Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque, which is what i'm trying to figure out. If you need the name changed then I can do that for you. gren グレン 20:08, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think youre a bit confused. I didnt create Hooshang Heshmat. I think User:CHeshmat did. I created Dr. Heshmat, which should refer to Dr Talequani Heshmat, a late 19th century figure in Iran's constitutional revolution. User:CHeshmat and User:Gmotamedi are responsible for changing the names and causing the confusion.--Zereshk 21:47, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
You didn't create it as such, no, however you created Dr. Heshmat which you later moved to Dr. Hooshang Heshmat which I moved to Hooshang Heshmat since we don't use titles for article titles. My question to you was did you really your article about Dr. Heshmat has become an article about some other guy? Is that alright with you or do you want to salvage it? If so, you should make the Dr. Heshmat redirect be an article at the name Talequani Heshmat. gren グレン 16:33, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please see Zora's threatening comments against me on Talk:Khaz'al Khan. Her edits have been filled with numerous errors and she has displayed an arrogant and condescending attitude towards us, putting us down again and again because we are Iranian and any source we provide, even if non-Iranian, as "nationalist." And yet with her UNPUBLISHED dissertation from an IRANIAN, she has absolutely no problem - just because the guy graduated from an AMERICAN university. I guess our universities, our scholars, are just no good. If that's not a totally racist and xenophobic attitude, I don't know what is. I believe we should move ahead with this.
