Station layout

Hi, station layouts should not be included in MRT station articles as per consensus that it is a violation of WP:NOTGUIDE. We can however see if we can include track layouts like in the NYC subway articles. Thanks 1.02 editor (T/C) 05:31, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Nvm, figured what it is. Already raised issue on NYC subway talk page. Searching up on other related articles such as those on the London Underground, it also shows that the platform layouts are not there. I hope to also include the tracks layout, but I have problems trying to figure out how it works.--ZKang123 (talk) 08:09, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Hmm looking pretty good so far, though not exactly accurate for the bottom part (the 2nd one from the left merges into the 1st and 3rd for example, and the 4th new track joins the actual much later), plus need to illustrate the NS lines going diagnoally away from the EW platforms for the top.

I am currently engaging with epicgenius on the island and side platforms templates. Can you also figure out how to do the colours and the headings? The link is in my message on your talk page. Hope you can fix it.--ZKang123 (talk) 08:17, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

@1.02 editor and ZKang123: I just saw the RFC on the NYC subway talk page. So, for the NYC subway system, it's pretty unique in that many stations have more than 2 tracks, and trains for several routes can arrive on the same track, like at Bowling Green station. Other systems have a general consensus to not include these station layouts, unless they're notable in some way, precisely per NOTGUIDE. For London, I tried something similar several years ago, but these were reverted because the consensus there was for SVG layouts for more notable stations. In either case, layouts for complex stations (3 or more tracks, 2 or more routes) = OK, layouts for simple stations (2 tracks and 1 route) = Decide on a case-by-case basis, but generally not needed. epicgenius (talk) 00:03, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
