American radio show about wikipedia edit

Hi

My name is Robin Amer and I’m a producer for an American public radio show called Open Source, which you can check out at www.radioopensource.org.

I’m writing you because this week we’re doing a show on Wikipedia including an interview with Jim Wales. We’re also looking for some particularly passionate and interesting Wikipedia users to talk to, especially users outside the US. I would love to talk to you about your involvement with the site. If you are interested, please give me a call at 617-497-8096, or email me at robinamer@riseup.net and send me your phone number.

Thanks so much.

Best, Robin Amer www.radioopensource.org

Chinese help edit

Hello Yuyu. I'm brazilian and I found your user at pt.wiki, while searching for native chinese speakers. I don't know how often you read your user page at en.wiki, but since your last edit was today, I'll give it a try.

I'm writing an article about backgammon in portuguese and while writing the History section, I found an ancient chinese name for a game that was one of the games that backgammon derived from. I was called T'shu-p'u. I was wondering if, by any chance, it's possible to write that for me in chinese characters.

I check my discussion page here at en.wiki once a day, and quite often at pt.wiki. I have the same username there.

Thanks for your time :) Timor 07:12, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia Hong Kong Meeting edit

Is this the meeting that you're talking about on my talk page? If it is, then I'm sorry to tell you that I'll be going back to Canada on August 13. OhanaUnitedTalk page 15:02, 18 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Probably I will be too busy packing my luggages. I also can't attend the meeting scheduled on August 3 as I will be returning to Hong Kong from Guangzhou that evening. It's my pleasure to meet you, and I hope to see you next year. (No guarantees though, as I might be doing my co-op work term next summer.) OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:38, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chinese Wikinews edit

Hi! Cary suggested you might be able to help me out with a little issue around zh.wikinews.

I believe the project has implemented Flagged Revisions, like several other Wikinews projects have done. To me, the most important option this gives is actually getting that particular language version of Wikinews listed in Google News.

I'd greatly appreciate if you could put me in touch with a zh/en fluent zh-Wikinewsie who I could explain the required steps and processes to. Or, failing that, translate an explanation for zhWN to think about and possibly implement. It probably will require changes to what they list on the main page (no in-development stories), and implementing a review process where the review is always carried out by someone not involved in the initial creation and development of the article.

Best place to catch me is n:User talk:Brian McNeil, or #wikinews on Freenode. --Brian McNeil /talk 19:30, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
