Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. David Biddulph (talk) 09:36, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

RE: Dr Yaser Alsaidi

edit

Hi. To follow up on my note at AN, not only is this 27-year-old Palestinian doctor non-notable at this time, but the incessant attempts at promoting him across multiple Wikimedia projects is actually doing him a dis-service. Because the record of this tendency toward self-promotion of him (even if not by him) could follow him around and possibly may actually end up being a detriment to his career prospects.

I want to stress that he may be fine doctor, he may even be a prodigy, but he has yet to hold prominent roles in his field. Contrast that, for example, with my own article about Prof. Ronni Gamzu — yes, he's Israeli and I don't mean that as some sort of Israeli-Palestinian provocation, I just happened to have written it yesterday, so it's fresh in my mind.

Anyway, look at the prominent roles Gamzu held and you'd be able to get a sense of what is expected in so far as retaining a page about a doctor. Otherwise, you're just wasting your and everyone else's collective time, totally for naught. And, again, in a way that reflects poorly on Dr Alsaidi. Who knows, in 5-10 years, maybe he'll be head of a department, and 5-10 years later, maybe even the head of a hospital (and beyond). That last part, that's when the threshold for notability would be met. So please spread the word (if applicable). Regards, El_C 20:16, 8 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, sir, for these notes and for your time Well, maybe when he meets certain conditions, I will consult you and write an article about it Thank you for your time and I apologize for any of my actions But I didn't have any bad intentions thanks for your efforts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yellowjoe (talkcontribs)

Please do not claim "own work" on images that were not taken by you and you do not possess the rights to. This is a copyright violation and can lead to revoking of editing privileges. Please see WP:Copyright and WP:fairuse for further information. Slywriter (talk) 17:35, 4 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I apologize for that. I'm going to add a picture of someone else's work, with that mentioned. And I have permission from him to use it. Is that enough? Thank you for your time. Yellowjoe (talk) 13:00, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

There is a process on commons where the copyright holder needs to release the photo. See Commons VRT under "if you are not the copyright holder" for the steps required. Slywriter (talk) 16:04, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Well, sir, I'm going to post a picture taken by me that's free of any copyright and so on.

Is there any problem with this?

I need your consent to ensure that the process proceeds without being deleted again.Yellowjoe (talk) 23:13, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have removed your image again. and nominated for deletion on commons. You CAN NOT claim "own work" if you did not take the photo and do not hold the rights.
