Welcome! edit

Hello, SYSUCC, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:10, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "SYSUCC", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because usernames which imply the user represents a specific company, group or other organization are not permitted per WP:ORGNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:12, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Marchjuly, the account name has been changed and approved. As for possible contention of neutrality in regards to the content, I request you re-read the content. The page has been drafted in factual, plain language and has been properly referenced via reliable sources.

--Yellowball91 (talk) 08:14, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I added the WP:COI notice based upon your choice of username. If you are connected to the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center in some way, please clarify how. Wikipedia does not expressly prohibited COI editing, but it has established certain guidelines (see Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide) that editors with a COI are expected to follow. Please be especially careful with respect to WP:FCOI and WP:PAID because undisclosed paid contributions are one thing which Wikipedia does expressly prohibit. It's very important that you be as upfront and as honest as possible about any connection you might have with the SYSUCC right from the start because not doing so may lead to problems with other editors down the road.
If by chance none of this applies to you and you have absolutely no connection to the SYSUCC, then you still might want to look at the information in the above COI template anyway because it contains links to pages which contain information that you might find helpful. You should also take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (companies and organizations), Wikipedia:Ownership of content, and Wikipedia:Your first article since these pages also contain information you might find helpful. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:34, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Marchjuly, I have declared my COI of interests at the top of the page. Please review to see if this now meets publication requirements.
Yellowball91 (talk) 00:46, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for doing that. The template you added, however, should be added to the talk page. So, I've gone ahead and moved it for you, so don't re-add to the draft page again. Since you've stated you are an employee of the SYSUCC and getting paid for you contributions, you also need to add WP:PAID declaration to your user page. There are a couple of ways you can do this, but the easiest might be to use Template:Paid. You can either add {{paid|employer=Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center|article=Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center}} or {{paid|employer=Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center|userbox=yes|article=[[Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center]]}}. If you want to see the difference between the two, you can copy and paste them into your sandbox and click "Show preview". As for reviewing your draft, you should submit it for review via WP:AFC when you think it's ready for publication. AfC reviewers are experienced editors who review lots of drafts and assess their suitablity for Wikipedia. If the AfC reviewer approves the draft, they will move it into the article namespace and do all of the corresponding clean up that goes along with that. However, if the reviewer declines you draft, they will explain why and offer suggestions on what needs to be approved. Not many drafts are accepted the first time, so don't get discouraged if this one gets declined. Drafts can be submitted multiuple times as long as they being improved as suggested by the AfC reviewers. When you ready to submit your draft, just click on "Submit your draft for review!". -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:13, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Marchjuly, thank you for all your assistance.
Yellowball91 (talk) 01:22, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, I think I've totally confused you now, so I will try one more time.
  1. I added Template:AfC submission to Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. When you feel you draft is ready for review, you just click on "Submit your draft for review!" and an AfC reviewer will eventually get to it. What you did was to try and submit your sandbox for review, but that's not what you want to do here. You now seem to have submitted both "Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center" and your sandbox for review, but you really only need to submit one. My suggestion to you would be to WP:BLANK your sandbox and just go with the draft.
  2. What you probably meant to do was add {{paid|employer=Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center|article=Draft:Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center}} to User:Yellowball91. I only suggested adding the "paid contribution declaration" templates it to your sandbox, if you wanted to see what they looked like before adding one of them to your user page. You don't need to submit your userpage for AfC review; you can just add whichever of the two "paid contribution declaration" templates you prefer.

Non-free rationale for File:SYSUCC logo.png edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SYSUCC logo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 21 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:SYSUCC logo.png edit

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
